Would be nice to remove the dust spot behind aircraft, espacially as it is first pic on row… (i searched hard to find something to criticise… :diablo: )
Cool pictures, do you work in Flygvapnet? 🙂
I discovered that spot just a few days ago when I got a new ultra mega super size monitor. Never thought anyone else would find it, though… 😀
Edit: Spot removed.
No connection to Flygvapnet other than sporadic photo missions. Mostly work for the Swedish aviation mag “Flygrevyn”.
Hej Daniel!
(Gentlemen, sorry for the internal chat :p)
30 years of ME!!!!!! 😮 😮
G’dmn, when I think about it (I usually don’t) – it’s 30 years of me too! 😮 😮
I heard that many of the European DC-3s are gathering the last weekend of August, I believe it’s at Tempelhof.
Variant designation. MiG-21SMT. Or, if you wish, a Modified version of the MiG-21S (hence MiG-21SM) with a fat spine for fuel, or toplivo in Russian (hence MiG-21SMT).
Daniel, do you happen to have a slightly clearer or bigger picture of the lower wing? It shows the construction number on the wheelbay door, and possibly on the pylon as well. Anoraks want to know…
Besides, it would be nice (but not likely) if it would precede the c/n of the one marked 10yellow, which is preserved in Riga.
Just for the anoraks: 😎 Serial is reported to be c/n 50023098
Some photos of Svedino’s MiG-21.
My friend Björn Svedfelt has just acquired one for his Svedinos Museum here in Ugglarp, but I daren’t ask him what he paid for it! I will however ask him where he got it from (I bet Sierra Echo Fred knows already!)
PL, I believe Svedino’s MiG was a deal in this category: ‘Please remove it for us we don’t want this piece of junk outside our store anymore’ (I’m not saying it’s junk though, but it does need a lot of TLC). I imagine the greatest cost was for the transport. Cheers, Daniel
XM603 at woodford, for being the only vulcan paintied in the original antiflash white scheme, it will be a crying shame to see another vulcan scrapped 🙁
I guess it has been discussed here before, but why is this Vulcan scrapped? Lack of funds, space, what? Could a new home, even outside the UK, save her? Or, at least the cockpit.
A really nice replica for sale in Sweden: http://www.blocket.se/vi/14040570.htm?ca=15_s

And TJ… please pick me up on the way to Le Ferte Alais 😎
Is the Dutch Connie still ground-bound?
As one who intends to operate a historic aircraft one day, I follow these kinds of threads with great interest. There was a similar one on the WIX board recently.
Everybody says it’s getting harder. Higher prices, more costs, more regulations, more of all bad things. And I guess that’s true.
Still it astonishes me how many extinct or rare types that have been able to flourish over the last years. It may be that the actual numbers go down – but it sure feels like the variety increases (or is that just me and my relative youth?)
Isn’t this a bit contradicting?
We had a few newcomers to Moscow this year – as well as us ‘old stagers’
As we approached central Moscow I pointed out the tank traps to a couple of the newbies – explaining that they were a memorial to how near to Moscow the German’s had advanced.
One wag pointed to the nearby IKEA – and said in a deadpan voice –
“Looks like the Swedes got further” 😀
Ken
Well, Ingvar Kamprad (IKEA founder) has been questioned for his Nazi sympathies… 😉
Grattis, Daniel! — I have a great urge to get the first Ryanair flight to Stansted tomorrow and rent a car to go to Brunters – vad tycks, Daniel?
Tackar! Just go, go, go! (and bring your camera 🙂
