Seen at Bournemouth
This buccaneer used to be parked at the Bournemouth aviation museum.
It now lives at De havillands on the northside of the airport. i was lucky to get a ride in her on one of her taxi/engine tests. it was fantastic to feel the power of the engines for a brief time on the runway.
RE: The airlines/aircraft involved
Latest news in JAX (jacksonvile florida) is that 25 flights were diverted here and the passengers are stuck until the airport opens tommorrow at noon (earliest) but anyone in their right mind would not fly on any plane for a while…my teacher in 3rd period let us watch the news because her sister works RIGHT ACROSS the street from the towers…she is OK but my teacher was freaking…
The scariest thing to me is how ‘they’ hijacked 4 planes of the biggest arilines in the world, and crashed them into some of the most important centers in one of the most powerful country in the world…what can be worse?
God Bless All…
Ben

RE: B 747 SP
Hey guys, i think that you are both wrong, the sp was a -300 model of the 747, and it was made to compete with the tri-jet era of the time
RE: B 747 SP
You said it was of the 747-200 versions-thats wrong i think, its the -300 and also it was made to compete with the tri-jet era of medium-long-range aircrafts…just wanted to let ya’ll know

RE: which is the best airport
well, this may sound pretty stupid, becuase it is not an internaitonal gateway or anything, but jax (jackosnville fl) is really nice. not a lot to do, but small, clean, good food, and an in motion pictures kiosk (inmotion picturess allows you to rent dvd, player, and headphones at a miminal cost, and if you aren’t going to a city wehre you can drop it off, they give you a jetback box so you can send it back int he mail)
RE: whats the best airline and aircraft you have flown
Well, i if i had to be on any plane (since i am not an international traveler yet i will list my favorite domestics, it would probaly be the A319, or the 767. The reason i picked the A319 is becuase in my view it is a ‘super 737.’ Great seats, great leg room, tv’s (don’t get that on a 737!) and roomy aisles. That is only in coach. 767, to me, one of the best auronautical designes planes-ever, for pilots and for passengers. I live in jackosnville, fl. and they operate delta flights on md-80, 767, and 757. Now you know that one of those 767’s when it gets to atlanta, heads right across the atlantic in a few hours, making it very versitaile. From a passengers standpoint, it is one of the roomiest delta aircraft around. delta’s md-11 is VERY packed in, i read how you said the 2-5-2 configuration was bad…i know the md-11 has that..pretty miserable, but it didn’t look to bad up front at all.Oh, yeah, my least favorite aircraft-Md-80- its like a japanese car, it says you can fit 5, but you’re lucky if you can fit 2!
About airlines, i am a longstanding Delta flyer. And on occasion usair (because i have family in philadelphia and i take the nostop a few times a year). Now, if you have flown them, you probably realize, they both need work! Delta is notorious for delays, but has a pretty spotless satey record. And usair has pretty good saftey, but pretty bad service people…but then again when i travel, i always get screwed, so maybe thats just me.
But, my favorite airline is probably midway (although you probably just noticed how they filed Chapter 11)when i flew direct from jax-rdu, those Bombardier CRJ’s were very nice, with thier all-leather interior, and the flight attendan’t gave hot-towels. Plus their is more legroom on this plane that even the big boys. Not to mention Midway’s Valet Check, where since there is not a lot of room in the overheades, you give them the bag at the gate, they give you the green tag, and at the other end, they give you the bag at the gate! it was pretty cool.
