    The Nazis dropped leaflets on the Arabs in the Western Desert during the Rommel campaign.

    They showed a Pound note on one side with a message in Arabic telling the people how useless the Pound would be when Rommel won. My brother brought a pack of them back,where are they now?:eek: In the bin years ago!

    Just found that our Norman was a Meteor & Vampire pilot,but he had joined the commercial world before this incident

    Did we not bomb Berlin August 1940 in retaliation when they bombed London?

    26th August 1940 was the first bombing of Berlin by the RAF.

    On the same day the Luftwaffe killed three civilians in NEUTRAL Ireland

    Please pardon my ignorance,BUT,did I hear David Jason say that the two seat Spit had seen action in the BoB?
    When did two seat Spits appear?
    What WAS the history of the one he flew in.
    Yes a tear appeared, I remember those days! Ginger Lacey was a Flight Commander at No1 School at RAF Jurby in 1953
