The Pakistani CorsairII deal was way back in the mid 70s. The Corsairs were embargoed(duh), by Jimmy Carter when we tried to purchase a nuclear re-processing plant from France in 76/77.
Start with the props, then work you’r way up to the Jumbos. Will take some time(took me two weeks) but the rewards will be worth it.
For combat flight simulators start with simlites(any Novalogic sim would do), gradually shift to medium difficulty sims like Jane’s IAF or Jane’s USAF(I don’t know of any new ones) then try the almighty studysims like Falcon4.0,Falcon4.0 Allied force, LOMAC, Jane’s F-15 etc etc. Of these the Falcon4.0 series is the most fullfilling. It has a huge fan base which means plenty of sites providing free support and add on mods. BTW I got hold of a great strike eagle mod for Falcon4.0 on a cd from a friend. I’ll try and find out which site he downloaded it from.(Think Jane’s F-15 with better graphics in Korea)
Saitek all the way. I own the X-45 and Cyborg 3D USB. Also had the Sidewinder FF pro(I don’t even want to talk about it) but the Saitek products are really more of my type. Stable, fluid movements no jerks or spasms and really are a pleasure to use specially the X-45.
Irst/Flir combo assembly proposed for the Thunder. Only the FLIR is Sagem’s the gray boxes are PAC IFF equipment as fitted to the ROSE series of upgrades.

Vulcan Ugly! 😮
Buddy it was the best looking V-Bomber around.
Now the Valiant was super ugly :dev2:
If a person has relations in the US he could give their address and ask em to courier it to him when they get it.That’s how I get new sims, otherwise it takes em upto 2 months before the original cds make it to Pakistani stores.Course the pirated ones are available but they come with the usual caveats so I preffer the above method.
Stand alone it’s a sequel duh! I pre ordered mine a day before the release, will get it within a week or so.
Lying and blustering is not unusual for the country in question.
Pakistan has no role in the plane other than applying a coat of paint. It’d be cheaper for RMAF to buy it from the source – China. But given that MY wants to have appearance of good relationship with other Islamic countries, they may throw Pak a bone.
Mods, if this is not flamebait or insultive behaviour then what is? 😡
Can somebody enlighten me as to the history/concept of the MANX?
experience has shown that its very hard if not impossible to put well prepared airbases out of commission for more than a few hrs. all countries have well drilled repair crews, machinery, quick setting concrete and utility helos for such situations.
Its easier to defeat flying fighters than seek them out hiding on the ground unless one has 101% air superiority like the US did in recent campaigns.
Wrong! Ask any pilot and he’ll tell you that the best place to take out enemy fighters is on the ground not the other way no matter what you’re air superiority level is.
Aww cmon! The Falcon is technically the best ever lawndart that existed. Surely somebody else besides me must like it too. And btw in terms of sheer looks, it beats any east bloc platform hands down, except for the Fishbed and the baseline SU-27 IMHO.
Just add some sweep to the K-8’s wings and it would look like a Hawk.
Btw I’ve noted that the Hawk, Alpha Jet, K-8, FMA Pampa and the Super Galeb all share basically the same design. Any comments on why is that so?
Keep em to u’rself chump.
BTW I concur with the assesment on the AWACS procurement.PAF(from what I have gathered from a few recent discussions with some people in the loop) is not willing to place all it’s eggs in the same basket this time around.
60 MLU kits? My information indicated the numbers being closer to 48.
French avionics for the Thunder were a forgone conclusion. And the Al-Khalid in it’s present guise also uses a few French systems the main example being the fire control system.
As far as the ships are concerned, the number is correct, but I was under the impression that they were going to be new build platforms.
One F-5E was captured by northern vietnamese and tranferred to the USSR to evaluation. There were several combats against Mig-21bis and Mig-23M, and F-5 won all combats. Source: Kondaurov, test-pilot of Mig.
The TigerII(F-5E) was not even in the developmental stage at the time you are reffering to.The only F-5 variant serving in Vietnam(and in existence) at that time was the Freedom Fighter(F-5A/B).
not a warrior just an activist.
