Well I didn’t know did I !
As I said above, the ‘Hercules’ is higher and wider than the An225 but is not as long.
I would like to own my own Hercules!
They always destroy Hercules and most of the planes that crash. Is that so enemy can’t find out our secret equipment???
Matt
Probably the best sites to go to are as follows:-
Aircraft= AVSIM =http://www.avsim.com/
Freeware airport scenery Mach 1 ( Good on frame rates american airports only)
World of AI= Real world airlines and flightplans it features an all in one installer so you get the aircraft and the routes they fly.= http://www.world-of-ai.com/
World freeware scenery= http://walhalla.mine.nu/fs2004.php
Great free rendition of Boston Logan by George Grimshaw=http://www.flytampa.org/
Thanks. I’ll ave a look!
Maybe, but there is a Emirates A380 permanently at Heathrow…:D
Yes there is indeed, they got rid of the Concorde and put that there, apparently it’s the real size of a Boeing 737.
And it’s smaller than a C-130 too ! 😀
C-27 Spartan is the smallest !
The thread’s been moved to its right place.
Just a tip for you:
Photographic forums, I think that is self explanatory.
Historic: Old planes, mostly of the type with a prop in front, or out of service.
Modern Military: Basically all about airforces, and their current inventories (or at least what was in the last 10 to 20 years, you get the picture)
Commercial Aviation: Those big metal tubes that carry you, your family, and a couple hundred other people to your vacation spot
General Aviation: All the small planes you see at your local airport (Cessnas, Beechcrafts, … or Bizjets)
Flight Sim / RC & Scale Models: Self explanatory, too.
General Discussion: everything else, just follow the posting rulesOh, and regarding your first posting in this thread: I guess you meant an “amazing SIGHT” ? 😉
Thanks, I know what they mean I just got mixed up! I’m going square eyed!
Hi Matt
Depending on your computer specifications the reason FSX is unplayable on your pc is because the latest incarnation of flight simulator is a major rescource hog which will squeeze the life out of most pc’s. Even the latest spec machines struggle with it.
If you can run FS2004 reasonably I would stick with that, there are plenty of downloads free and payware to bring FS2004 upto a standard comparable with FSX without the slide show FSX produces.
Hope this helps in some way.
Nic
Any ideas on where I can go to get these updates for Flight Sim 2004
I’ll bet you think there’s only one Concorde, don’t you? :diablo:
Nope !!! 😀
There is one at Heathrow airport just fading away!
They should of kept one going with the Red Arrows
Not so!
He is referring to the Hughes H4 Hercules or ‘Spruce Goose’, not the C130.
A taller tail fin and greater wingspan than the An-225 and the A380, but both the A380-800 and the An-225 are longer.
Just had a look on the link, I’ve heard about that one before, it only made one flight. It’s massive!
The C-5 is a wonderful bird. I’ve got some nice picture somewhere here…
I’ve also had the privilege of flying the simulator ;).
It is very nice to fly.Ah! Finally found some…
How I see them from where I work (with a zoom lens)
They fly like this over the grass field where our L-birds are hangared. And more…
It is so deceptive to see it in the air.
The thing is moving at a very decent rate of speed, but looks so slow in the air because of it’s size.Enjoy!
Ryan
Nice pictures, thanks for posting them!
There is something about the C-5 Galaxy engines that make her sound amazing. Have you noticed when it lands it bounces slightly?
A total of 111 C-5A/B/C and now M-model aircraft are currently in the inventory, with 108 aircraft operational with active duty Air Force, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve Command units.
The C-5 fleet has approximately sixty percent of its useful life left. Two complementary modification programs are expected to extend the life of the C-5s until 2040.
Thanks for the info!
Use to see the C-5 at a few airshows, Haven’t seen it for atleast 5 years now.
My favourite has always been the black and gold paint scheme of the black and gold South African Mirage IIICZ!
And….
Paint work is stunning!
I agree with you there
Great pictures !!
I usually go to Duxford, It’s better these days!
