    Thanks for that Ant 🙂 I’m wondering if “Detroit Miss” was just a temporary scheme for a film or TV programme, as I am sure the SHF’s P-51 sported “Old Crow”‘s markings before Spring 1999 when I believe I took the photo, and since then too (Didn’t Bud take to the skies in her sometime during Flying Legends 2001?)

    In my (small) collection of photos, I have a pic of a P-51 “Detroit Miss”, shivering out on the apron on a very wet and windy day at Duxford. I will see if I can scan it and post it here. Does “Detroit Miss” ring any bells with anyone?

    Thank you for posting these, being a Duxford-a-phile, I love pics like this. The IWM holds a couple of reels of amateur film of scenes like this as Duxford…just the thing for keeping Ashley amused at lunchtimes 🙂
