Hi Strato
Very rare clip indeed!
I tried to cut stills from it,but due to the low resolution they came up all blured.
If the original would have been upload,it might have helped.
BTW
it Algerian-nor argelian.

Any pics of Saudi Pilatus PC-9?
Looks like the windshild needs some polishing.
This particulare incident took place in the first day of the Yom Kippur War-6 October 1973.
A pair of F-4E attacked a large formation of Egyptian Mi-8’s carrying Egyptian Commandos over sinai (I think it was near Ras Sudar).
As dan said,at least one of them was shot down using the afterburner thrust(I’m not familiar with another such case…)
This incident is fairly well doumented.
An Israeli A-4E shot down a Mig-17 using Zuni rockets during The War of Attrition in 1970.
Also, there’s a story of an Iranian F-14 that fires a Phonix missile on a formation of 4 Iraqi Mig-23 which were flying in close formation.
As a result of the explosion,3 of them went down, and the 4 was severely hit and aborted the mission.
Can we have that story told please, made me curious. 😀

Sorry for the Wiki link, but it sums up the chain of event that led to the incident.
Israeli F-4E shot down a Libyan Boeing 727 over Sinai in February 1973.
Still waiting for a similar book on the Egyptian AF…
