    Yes, the extra tank is fitted for longer trips to show destinations, usually abroad.
    That particular picture was taken at Headcorn, where two aircraft stopped off on their way back from a display in Switzerland.
    Headcorn is often used as a stop off point when crossing the channel, both for fuel ,customs paperwork and of course sometimes because of bad weather conditions.

    Why not set to manual focus and with an ISO of 200 try at an aperture that is not going to give a speed in the camera shake zone and shoot away at various distances manually focussing each time.
    This will at least eliminate auto focus problems that it may be.

    The Islander is also used for parachute drops, although the Caravan seems to be used more often.

    I think you will find the pilot of the T6 is Gavin Ashdown not Tony Richards.
