What exactly are your credentials if we already talk about it?

Mine? My credentials in aeronautics / aviation related fields are non as I have openly stated before.
Out of interest, what are yours?

Why feed the trolls? Some of our “friends” across the Atlantic have this irrational hatred for the F-35. I guess I would too if I saw it being the death knell for the independent manufacture of tactical fighters in Europe as well. They have an almost maniacal sense of envy in the ability of the Pentagon to be able to spend an additional $500 million dollars as a sign of the major commitment to the development and production of the F-35.

No where in the article does it say anything about 500 million to overcome delays in testing but even if it does, so what? The point is despite the naysayers, the envious and the trolls, it looks like F-35 program is tracking pretty close to budget and time. That and the fact that the US is willing to add money to ensure that it stays that way just really bugs some of our “friends”.

I’d have to agree in hindsight that I shouldn’t have fed the troll and I pretty much agree with what you say in your post. Europeans can be rather bitter when something better than they have is offered to the market, the hopeless “Typhoon is better than Raptor” propaganda brigade being an example.
And also, yes, the 500 million extra talk is tripe.

You yourself stated you have no knowledge of aviation matters, how can you possibly feel entitled to question anybody on aviation given that statement?

You never back up your statements with hard facts, at best it is merely vague “such and such said so” or PR cheerleading.

You are both boring and obnoxious.

You expose yourself as nothing better than those football fans from the ’80’s who went to games for the purpose of violence rather than watching football.

    Hugs

Incase you hadn’t noticed I don’t try and play the expert and instead chose to listen to professionals. Which is unlike others here who won’t listen to professionals and pretend to be the expert, so, the fact I have no professional level knowledge of aviation matters is irrelevent.

    Cute rant though, carry on.

Sounds like you, again, have no arguments to counter his, brother. 🙂
Take the lines he has written and disprove them one after another. If you can’t do this, then calling him a burger flipper only makes you look like a guy, who does cleaning after those who flip burgers. Which probably is closer to truth than we’d dare to guess.

Its sweet to see you playing the white knight for Mr Cola but i’m sure he could let his credentials in the field of aeronautics convince us he knows more that those who build, maintain and fly the F-22 do, couldn’t you Cola…right?

It’s not required- since when is there any tangible ‘Good’ news for the JSF programme?

That is rich, really rich considering it comes from a PAK-FA zealot.

    How’s that PAK-FA contraption coming along? /sniggers/

You’re making a lot of assumptions here based upon public domain knowledge. I’d rather take a compilation of anecdotal remarks from pilots, to give me some insight into the capabilities.

It’s obvious Cola knows far more about the F-22 than those who pilot it for a living do…

The IOC of the related services does differ.;)

So what if they differ as no one has said otherwise, your point remains.. pointless.

“Our objective remains to equip the first training squadron at Eglin Air Force Base by 2011, and achieve initial operating capability for the Marines and Air Force in 2012 and 2013 respectively,” Gates said.

At least $500 mio added to overcome delays in testing to reach that.

Your post has no purpose other than to threadsh*t as far as one can tell but it doesn’t detract from the fact 2011 will be the year the first F-35 training squadron forms.

Seriously, what’s wrong with the artworks of fanboys?

Oh, that’s right, it’s just figments of their imagination, planes that would never leave their computerized drawing boards.

You said it, they’re “just figments of their imagination” (your words) therefore they have no basis in reality.
Perhaps you’d be better off posting in a Sci-Fi forum…

“Iran’s AWACS — along with other modern reconnaissance equipment including radars with a range of more than 1,000 kilometers — can track down any military moves around the Iranian borders, the report said.” :p

“Last month, Iran’s Air Force chief said the Islamic Republic has also launched the production line of radar-evading ‘stealth’ fighter jets. “:p

Have you seen todays news that Iran is carrying out in their words “missile defence excercises” , this involves firing off surface to surface missiles…

I suggest you read up on subjects like ‘Spanish Succession Wars’ and ‘ Raid on the Medway’. For some reason I think my allusions fell outside your frame of reference

Just admit it was a silly childish comment instead of trying to be smart.

Ship, don’t take it personally. If the chart is a joke, that means only that and nothing else.

Now, this second chart is a flight envelope given in Stevenson’s F22 report (2006.) and is the most accurate one (cross referenced with all available data that came out on F22 program), that I’ve seen.

Interesting thing is, that it puts 1g envelope almost exactly where the “floating one” puts 5g envelope and this is the reason why disqualifying the “floating one” was like clubbing baby seals. 😀

If one is smart and wants to sell an inflated chart, I’d advise to keep within 1g, maybe 1,5g, of official numbers. That way it’ll be much harder to tell if it’s real or not. 😉

Oh man, is it going to be funny if that chart proves to be for real…

There is still plenty of room for a 9G instantaneous manoeuvre envelope to fit there, just compare the doghouse plot for a clean F-16 and you will see what I mean.

But I think that it’s also fairly obvious that the F-15 is carrying tanks, which would explain why it’s manoeuvring envelope looks so limited.

I would think it is fairly clear to all that read this forum that Over G and Cola already know all there is to know about fighter jets and aerodynamics, afterall these two guys design and fly them for a living…

(just kidding, they probably flip burgers)

Oh look, the awesome F22 should do 1g maneuver at 30000m… 5gs at M2 and 20000m , hahaha!

Come on, the chart is bull****…

Until now, i have not seen neither proper equipment for the pilots to do 5 gs at 20000m!, with all these super performances the 22 should have a least 100 world’s records..

There is other value, comparing requirements and goals , and that give 3 sustained g’s at 10000 m..

Seriously though, try and at least be somewhat subtle when trolling and not so transparent.
