I fart in the general direction of your criticisms. The fund raising will continue throught the year so that the over-optimistic begging bowl is less likely to poke its head out of the gutter at the end of the year. VTTS are getting better at managing the situation, if you think otherwise, if you think ‘how hard can it be?’
You do it.
What needs to be agreed on now
Probably something along the lines of to what to do with it once its parked up. I can imagine it would cause the airport a few issues while its being decommissioned/tugged over to the aeropark. To the best of my knowledge i don’t think there is even a pad set up for it yet. I haven’t been up for a few weeks.
(Im not avoiding you all, i just haven’t got a bean since being slapped with a £990 repair bill for my bike. Hence no submission of an application form)
Any news on where the few remaining R1’s are heading?
I heard one is destined for the aeropark im just after a date 😛
I see theyre being cocky again by scrapping the pledge campaign…
Would the Walton family want the Vulcan back at Bruntingthorpe? Have they been asked?
Thats a good question. Im sure im not the only one pondering whether or not 558 will be returned to brunters. Hopefully she’ll be put somewhere where she’ll live out her days as a ground runner
Personally it’d be amazing for me to see 452 back home
Quick get Russel Carpenter on the blower! :p
It was flown there under a military serial by a BAE test pilot, at a time when XS904 was still being used for (radar trials?) by BAE systems. Theres an interesting video about it on planestv.com
I have a collection of about 15-20 photos from all corners of the interweb of 575 in service and one of her parked up on the apron at EMA.
Well by the looks of it they only have today and tomorrow to get the permit in or no display at waddington
Even if the colour is wrong it wont take long for the elements to dull it down to the hemp kind of colour again. Personally I think she looks stunning. And i think the guys who painted her deserve a round of applause.
I think Hurn hit the nail on the head. I was referring to the Cold war jets day on the 30th. It seems strange that VTTS are advertising this years event on their website. I would be willing to bet a large ammount that the ‘vulcan village’ will be there.
There appears to be some roumours afoot that 558 will be appearing at bruntingthorpe on sunday. Can anyone confirm these?
It has yet to make the full weekend though. This year she has everything stacked against her. Funding, serviceability, and the most recent disruption we’ve all been hearing about lately, volcanic ash.
I hope she doesn’t miss cosford 😉
Ah, so we have them to blame for the wrong colour scheme!
Nice pics though!
I thought it was a scheme specially adopted for the vulcan display flight with the panther nose-art representing all of the vulcan squadrons?
Shame its got no engines :/
What’s the going rate for Avon 302’s these days?
