It’s in Thai AF scheme; can’t read what it says under the tail though.

Yes indeed. This is Bu122095 (RTAF Kh15-43/93) which went to La Ferte Alais in 1987 in exchange for a Breguet 14P replica (F-AZBH, now in the RTAF Museum). The Bearcat became G-BUCF, then N2209.

Any chance of a high-res copy of the photo? I have a couple of poor ones taken from the other side.

The two Princes reported in Thailand are in fact one and the same aircraft. A potted history:-

c/n P.41 delivered April 1952 to Thai Supreme Command HQ (for Royal Thai Survey Dept); apparently operated with serial ‘0041’ by Army (on behalf of Survey Dept) until transferred to RTAF (still operated on behalf of Survey Dept) 1955; allocated RTAF serial T1-1/98; withdrawn in 1960; stored at RTAF Museum since at least 1967 (probably earlier); given to Army as static para trainer in late 1970’s and parked at 11th Infantry Division, Bang Khaen; returned to RTAF Museum for restoration late 1980’s; restored and put on display at RTAF Museum Jan-95 and still there (marked T1-1/96 in error).

I have more photos if anyone wants copies.

The following Spitfires still exist in Thailand:-

PR.19 ex PM630 believed still to be in the RTAF Workshops at Bangsue

FR.14 ex SM914 in RTAF Museum

PR.19 ex PS836 in Tango Museum, Don Muang (complete, but no work done on it in the last 10 years)

FR.14 ex RM873 in Tango store at Takhli AFB; unrestored fuselage (saw it in Feb-04)

Somebody mentioned a Bearcat? There are three in Thailand:-

one in the Tango store at Takhli AFB (owned by Crown Prince) – complete, unrestored, no engine(saw it in Feb-04)

ex Bu122120 at U-Tapao; made a brief first flight post-restoration Oct-03 but blew up the engine, so is back grounded.

    ex Bu94956 at RTAF Museum
