Can’t help, except for a drawing, all photographs in Avro Athena Advanced Trainer , Publication P15/4M/49.9 are b & w.
I will probabmy go on saturday. I know that Stieglitz will also attend. Later on, we should arrange a meeting point. It will be my first visit so I cannot help.
As suggested by Daniel Brackx, I checked with the Canadian and ordered “The Canadian Aviation Historical Society – Journal Vol. 42 No. 2: Summer 2004” which arrived to-day.
Excellent (B & W) photographs shows the plane in the two-tone c/s with Belgian registration. The author clearly states that the plane was painted in a blue c/s whilst in Belgian hands.
Strangely, researches carried in Belgium did not allow to trace any picture in this colour scheme during belgian service with Cogea nouvelle.
It is nevertheless worth mentioning that the Beechcraft Bonanza, OO-FUN, belonging to the founder of the company was cream and blue but in another pattern, only b & w photographs in my collection. It happened that I did my first flight in that aircraft in 1952 at the age of seven.
Two Andovers, ex Zaire were purchased by a Belgian company based at Antwerp a few years ago. One was sold and flies again in Africa, the other one is still stored in the open at Antwerp airport.
