The roof was cut yesterday and off-loading started. The nose was secured when the tail section was removed.

Forgeard
He was not arrested but kept under custody for 24 hours (Garde à vue under French Law).
He paid a caution of 1.000.000 prior to be released and will not be authorized to contact other persons from EADS.
As a matter of fact, the current CEO, a German citizen was also in charge then.
Let’s see what will happen.

Based on latest info available, the captain requested permission to back track to start from the threshold and not from the first intersection.
After 1700 meters run, the tower controller warned the captain that one starboard engine was on fire ,(Compressor stall?) and called the Fire Brigade.
The captain answered that he would abort take-off and braked.
Witnesses noted that neither thrust reverser nor spoilers were activated.
Fuel had been successfully pumped.
Off-loading should start in a few days.
Runway out of use for 8 days in direction 02 (landing) and for a few weeks in direction 20 (take-offs)
Secretary of State in charge of Transport stated that in the future, the runways will be selected taking into account the prevailing winds and the take-off weight.
Let’s hope that this will put the dispersion scheme to end.

At RamsteinAFB in 1978, during the presentation of the BBMF Spit Mk V, I was chatting with a RN pilot who flew a Phantom for the static show. He told me that he was the last RN pilot who flew during the WW.2.
We were, politely, interrupted by an old one legged German who asked him how many Luftwaffe pilots he shot down. The answer was one. Then, the German fellow introduced himself as a former Luftwaffe pilot and said in German that he shot down five RAF ones. I just forgot to ask their names and to take their photograph as I was so busy shooting the Spit.

Patrick,
At least two American publishers print books on demand which is convenient for short run or alternatively, you print yourself a Pdf (without photographs)at a much reduced price.(Lulu Enterprises or The Book Store, both US)
I, recently, purchased Hawker Hunter 1951 to 2007 by David Griffin published by Lulu Enterprises .The only negative point is the lack of sharpness of the photographs (Apparentlt printed on an office off-set)
The last book from dan hagedorn was printed by Hikoki (Photographs only) and the text can be downloaded free as Pdf by the purchasers.
Wishing you great sucess with your book.

Karel Bos, the man behind Historic Flying is a Dutch citizen living in Belgium.
I was so pleased to see an aircraft in her original c/s scheme, but the owner is perfectly allowed to have her sprayed in any fancy c/s.

Aviation museum
If slightly off-topic, when I intended to visit Cosford Aerospace Museum,I went to the Brussels official British tourist Office where the lady (Definitely British) told me that there was no Air Museum in Cosford.
When I had a word with one of the staff afew days later, they confirmed that they are listed in an official guide of British Museums.
So..

Caudron G.3 at Brussels Air Museum
I, recently, read on the web that the c/n quoted by the museum is not matching the subtype which would have been built later.(Post WW.1?)
If this is correct, the subtype should be mentionned.
Any info, Gents?
Greek Spitfire
Would greatly appreciate to know the c/n.
Thks very much in advance.

I don’t mind to be searched before boarding an aircraft. But I must say that in one of our neighbouring country, security check is a joke. When the alarm trigger, they ask to hand over your wallet, wristwatch, glasses and remove your belt. When the alarm triggered again, they let you thru.
Once I forgot to change shoes before flying home. The metal sole of the safety shoes triggered the alarm. I removed the shoes, had them X-rayed and boarded the plane.
Following week, I boarded the same flight. Before passing the detector, the Security man told his colleague to let me thru stating that I am the guy with metal shoes.

Re.:G-AMAU
I am searching for years to get the c/n of the airframe but to no avail.
G-INFO gives the RAF serial.
I am confident that one our honorable members have the answer somewhere.
Thks in advance.
