I reckon he’s probably floating over Birmingham right now.

Poor boy, if he is over Birmingham I think we should all feel sorry for him. Does he mean to be over Birmingham or is he still struggling with nav and currently thinks he’s over Blackpool?

‘r’ come out come out wherever you are.

Was Kemble where two spits and a p-51 were coming from/going to when they scared the living sh1t outta me when i was on my way to a uni visit by flying so low i got knocked about by the prop-wash on my motorbike? Fun in the tipping rain.

Would these be the ones that Warbird UK was refering to in his post last night? Probably somewhere between Bristol and Goodwood.

Is that with or without the girlfriend? 😀

As she is evidently now guilty by association perhaps she also needs confining to a darkened room (preferably the same one), particularly as she admitted the Mustang was a nice looking aircraft

Just a note for my defense: in England I doubt this could happen really as you would have somebody to talk to

Not everywhere, there are many un-manned farm strips and the like up and down the country, only a few weeks ago I walked out of the hanger looked down the runway to see a Chipmunk rolling along after just having landed. It turns out he was looking for a grass strip slightly to the South of us but saw our field and thought he must have arrived and that the GPS co-ordinates were slightly out. Nice to see the aircraft and meet the pilot, but it just goes to prove it can happen in the UK.
We do use a frequency however it is not a published frequency as such.

From the aircraft or the owner?

Wherever it ends up I hope it gets the care and attention it deserves, despite of a few niggles over the years it’s not a bad aircraft and really deserves more use than it’s had over the years. Seems to have spent most of it’s time in storage.

Pop over and stroke his muzzle at the weekend if you like (The aircraft, not Mr Honey)

    Moggy

I will do that, thanks, hopefully the weather will improve between now and the weekend, Wymondham seems to be being blown away at the moment (not a bad thing I guess).

I’m not sure Mr Honey would appreciate being stroked and I fear it may alter the terms of my membership at Old Buck, I’ll stick to aircraft I think 😉

Come on Yak 11. It’s a late 60’s ‘popular’ (not with me) song, with a line something like

“I went to bed a boy and woke up a man”

I’ll listen out for it in the future.

Guess you can’t blame ‘r’ for trying, he seems to be game for anything just as long as he goes flying (legally of course).

The Yak 11 (G-IYAK) is owned by Glenn James and probably the best there is at the moment. It’s one of the former Eddie Coventry aircraft that was to be operated as a pair. By happy coincidence I found last night the video footage from the day we went down to the High Wycombe area to collect it at the start of the rebuild back in 1993. That was an interesting story in itself.
