If its early 90s the Spitfire was in New Zealand and the Mustang in France by then….
I have always vowed when (if?) i ever won the euro milions to buy a rare warbird and paint it lime green with pink spots……:D
I’ll give you a hand to paint it if you like….
I believe they came in from Switzerland rather than USA.
Both were at Duxford until this time last year.
Do you know what identity they purchased in the UK?
There are a good number of photos on the internet showing F-AZYA in this scheme with a 5 on the side, similarly there are a fair few of D-FJII now wearing a green and grey camouflage scheme.
I will certainly be heading back to Seattle to see it. Been looking forward to this restoration breaking cover for some time.
Stearman and a low wing silver aircraft, possibly the Yale, being led around the sky by a Harvard a few minutes ago over Newmarket. Looked lovely from my office window.
You mean Mustangs like Hun Hunter and Berlin Express?
Didn’t G-TRIX have pintle stud failure following landing at Goodwood some years ago.
Red was quite a popular colour for Vintage V12 built Merlins, TD248’s was the same, in fact both aircraft shared the same hangar for a few years.

My understanding is that Marinell (N383FJ) is based on a grass strip near Lake Garda with the rest of the new owners collection. She has been there since October.
Nice to see her out and about.
I had to smile to myself, I went to Fairford this year for the first time, having heard about traffic chaos I elected to get there early and was fortunate to be one of the first people in, what amused me were grown men running past me to claim their little bit of England on the flightline by laying down a folded up chair and then wandering off around the show. Very odd behaviour.
