The Lysanders would be the Shuttleworth aircraft, Brian Woodford’s aircraft at the time operated by ARCo (and now in an awful state in Florida) and the Sabena aircraft currently under rebuild following an accident…

That may be the case, although one report I read claimed the wind was in the process of changing direction so that may well have had an effect. I’m sure those that need to know will be aware of the facts in the fullness of time.

Didn’t the French one end up returning to France with the gear locked down? I seem to recall it also missed its displays at La Ferte Alais due to mechanical/electrical issues.

Quite often…. however you have to prove it through engineering reports, stress analysis etc…

Are the Flug Werk aircraft really an improvement on the originals???? Or are they just different????

Another three pics of P-51’s. Duxford, but can’t remember when, other than after the Memphis Belle filming.

Possibly the Classic Fighter Display in July 1991

No, FT375 is G-BWUL and in Italy, G-HRVD was one of the Thruxton projects

Colin Edwards still owns and maintains G-BICE, it flies on occasion but doesn’t tend to go to many events. I last spoke to Mr Edwards about a month ago and he was keeping well, certainly one of life’s characters…..

As for the Thruxton Harvards, I’ve seen a couple and they both look nice, I’ve also done some work on a centre section they rebuilt, I’m not a fan of the grey paint they used everywhere however….

Rolf Meum was one of the OFMC pilots who flew the MiG before it went to Brazil.

The second MiG eventually found its way to Everett Aero and was exported to America in 2001. What happened to it after that I don’t know…

Difficult to come up with a ‘best’ flight, I’ve been lucky to have so many memorable flights over the years and every time I fly the Stearman its better than the time before, as for the worst flight, it probably involves an XL airways night flight back from a holiday in Greece, horrible cramped thing full of screaming kids….

    Hello,
Once on a visit to the hangar at Hardwick I caught sight of a small table depicting most of Mr Hammonds collection in model format.

There is a model B24 as well, all hand carved from the finest trees by a very talented and much missed friend.
Sadly Merlins wont fit a B24 either.

It didn’t so much crash into the fence as roll into it and put the wingtip over the top… no damage done…
As for the Mustangs… it was as much news to us that they were going to North Weald as it was for you…
