Kev,
It was Rob Davies in Big Beautiful Doll, having paid a visit to CFS. The Doll looked good when I saw it today around at the Aerofair and around Essex.
Glad you had a good time Moggy, I got to the A1 at Huntingdon on the way home from the Midlands and was going to come down, but the weather had been awful, and continued to look that way so I came home instead, next time I shall be there.
They look good Kev, looks like I should have stopped at the museun after all as I passed Coventry on my way home.
Nah, not after Ashley’s comments about the RAF Museum after the last forum visit 😉
This Pole that requires posting…..
Is it the one the Vixen will be mounted on because the purists have banned it from flying in anything other than a Royal Navy scheme? :p
Oh well lets just push it outside and wait for it to rot then, like a number of other Vixens 😡 😡 😡
Why do you feel sorry for it, it’s a flyer and well maintained. The sponsorship can only help its future preservation. The scheme looks good, certainly better than those odd stearmen with girlies strapped to the top of them, I’m all for something a bit different.
Since Karel Bos took over Historic Flying they have apparently only rebuilt their own Spitfires for operation and eventual sale.
Next to an egg beater?????
Next to an egg beater?????
What a fantastic painting, makes you think just what we were robbed of on 3rd July 1977. The thought of a 2 ship Black Knight T33 display or even the potential the F86’s could have offered would have been mind blowing.
Graeme,
I’m sure we would all love to see the Flying A aircraft fly, however as I say the owner has no interest at all in flying them, or letting anybody else fly them for that matter. The thing we need to bear in mind is that these aircraft are all appreciating assets which are showing a good rate of return on their investment currently (or have been in recent years at least).
The Jim Pearce Me110’s were sold off to the Alpine Fighter Collection in New Zealand a long time ago, they have since been sold on again to a museum in Germany who rebuilt one to static condition using parts of the others along the way.

Once again photo please.
Peter,
What are we talking about here?? If its the Lightning in the thread then it seems she is in a museum in Doncaster and has a good future under Scott C. If however you are refering to another Lightning let us know.
