I have to admit I am more than a little disappointed that the pre ordered (and paid for) copies took a back seat to people simply walking up to a stall a month later and buying a copy. I suppose I just need to learn the art of patience.
Alternatively you could visit the 40’s weekend down the road at Hardwick where I can promise a few very nice aircraft
Norwegian DC3 to the North West of Ipswich heading towards Duxford
That’s Romans chopper
Who????
What a nice example of a Volvo lorry, shame that rough old container is in the way. Will it still be at Legends?
A recent arrival in Hangar 3 is this spectacular Packard V-1650, rebuilt and due to be installed in ‘Ferocious Frankie’:
What a beautiful looking engine
Interesting to note that the entry in Spitfire Survivors for AB910 indicated that the Harvard swung on take off and collided with the Spitfire.
Thought it was at seething.
Does anyone know the provenance of the 504? I believe that Tony Ditheridge held parts from an Avro 504 floatplane at one point, did this project ever surface?
That was / is G-EASD, when I last saw it there was much more original stuff than just a dataplate.
Any more 51s to come out of the workshop at Hardwick in due time, or are two wild horses enough?
T J
Two keep us pretty busy…. 😀
Which 51 is headed to France?
T J
Moonbeam McSwine N2151D previously owned by Vlado Lenoch is reported to be heading for France
I imagine that this aircraft is flying with its original centre section rather than having been restored with new spars etc.
Now with the Horesman confirmed surely all the other owners of P51’s in Europe will be gathering around them
Why would they gather around the Horsemen.
Sounds a very ambitious plan, can’t see it happening.
replica??? BM597 is no replica or did I miss something?
There was a plastic Spitfire in hangar 4 when I last visited, BM597 I believe is in hangar 3.
I can,t understand why they stopped what was a very very popular show ,it was always packed to the limits, they could have doubled the entrance fee and it would still have been packed ,i suspect it was due to some of the upmarket locals complaining about the local traffic and noise from the show ,a lot of people enjoyed the Biggin Air Show ,sadly missed !!!

Possibly due to the disruption caused to the multitude of Business Jets that seem to fill the place these days.
