So did anybody go? It was a great day by all accounts. We certainly enjoyed their visit to a rather damp Hardwick on Saturday, it was an incredible site to see a convoy of 60 or so military vehicles snaking their way up the track past the nissen huts of the 93rd Bomb Group Museum.
All 3 Arnold Mustangs returned to America late 92, Shangri La went to a Mexican owner, the TF is/was in Florida and Petie 2nd (N314BG) was sold to an American owner.
What about the aircraft that became G-PSID, 1979 From memory, also the Mustang Pilots Club aircraft in 1977. Can’t remember whether N314BG flew across or whether it was crated.
Great shame for all who put so much effort into this, thanks everyone for trying and good to hear that the pilot and aircraft are safe. Good luck with getting the Mustang over.
Great shame, Seeting is also off this weekend, although that should go ahaed later in the year. Certainly doesn’t look like improving this side of the weekend but fingers crossed it does soon.
Its all part of a military vehicle weekend including a tour of different bases by the vehicles culminating in a bash at Parham on Sunday, as Ewan says you may well see a few interesting aircraft.
P.S. The T6 I was refering to is in a USAF overall Yellow colour scheme with somthing like ‘TA-521’ under the cockpit. I’ve seen this a few times, often at the same or similar time as a P51 so I assumed it was local.

the overheads of the Rolls Royce Spit were taken from the main concrete runway as it was taking off (much to the discontent of the stewards, but it was too good an opportunity to miss – apologies chaps!).
