There was a very good reason for boxing them up, yes it would have been nice to have seen them out by now but there you go.
I wouldn’t under estimate Mr Arnold lots goes on behind closed doors that never comes out in the open..

Did have at the last count. Don’t forget his Father was a dealer too. Nothing has been destroyed.

    Chris – a 172? Thought you’d have blagged a backseat in Fools’

    TT

The only problem there was that it came in on Saturday and I had no desire to sleep outside… I did spot you in the distance looking as though you knew what you were talking about while doing your flightline walk bit…
I take it you have sobered up now?

    Try WZ584 then.

    15143 WZ584 Vampire T11 d/d 04/06/1953, sold to HSA 11/12/1970, to G-BZRC Sandtoft, then Booker, since moved

Thanks for the replies, sounds an interesting machine. I may have the opportunity of flying one in the not too distant future, I’ll let you know how I get on.

I remember it, Centaurus 173 or something similar. The aircraft never flew with that set up and is now flying with a 3350 up front with the Commemorative Air Force in America.

Is there a 450 Stearman out there? Flying on a PC has got to do more for my life expectancy than trying to fly the real thing…….
    I will master it however………….

We have of course already had Brits racing at Reno in Centaurus powered Sea Furies, Ormond Haydon-Baillie in the 70’s and Robs Lamplough in the late 80’s
