I agree. Canada has a French breakaway region. French is an equal language to English in the country.
Russia is reportedly on the verge of selling more than a dozen advanced Su-35S Flanker-E fighter jets to the United Arab Emirates. If the deal is truly in the works, it could signal a shift by the country away from its long time partner the United States, or it could be an attempt by authorities in Dubai to gain political leverage over their counterparts in Washington.
On Oct. 3, 2017, Russian media outlet TASS reported that a source had told it that the UAE was in line to purchase more than “a squadron” worth of Flanker-Es, typically between 12 and 18 aircraft.
@Sintra
There’s plenty, just an endless supply, of anti establishment westerners out there. Who would love nothing more than a platform to go off.That’s all RT provides. They dont have to do anything else.
Do you really think they even could ? Do you think some KGB agents sneak in the door every day and give orders ?
@tomcat
State loans can’t simply constitute any hidden capitalization, otherwise there are no free-market (hence the malus on the 20M$ Import price).
The “free market” when it comes to the parties involved, especially Boeing, doesn’t exist. It doesn’t exist for any of them. Its all a wishy washy half assed corporate state crony racket.
Why Ex-Im Really Is Boeing’s Bank.
http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/415364/why-ex-im-really-boeings-bank-bank-actually-privately-consulted-them-bank-policies
Its a total racket for all of them. Boeing, the behemoth of the industry, with the addition of its military industrial gravy train division, and its own government garanteed bank, is 200% in the wrong here. Sure technically Bombardier bent the rules. But everyone does. It was nothing out of the ordinary.
Boeing is bully. And a hypocrite. Full stop.
@Ozair
Of course on paper, you can make Boeing out to look like the innocent party.
But we all know that Boeing is on the military industrial gravy train.
Boeing has taken no action against Embraer which makes the E195.
Maybe that is because Embraer is not selling E195s cheaper than it cost to build them.
They all do when they release new products.
But the US is just doing this to set the precedent now. They are worried about Chinese and Russian wide bodies in the future. Not sure why they would worry about Canada and Russia. They just want to compliment the industry with some niche products.
China should be treated separatly. They are rank mercantalists who would flood the world with jets just because.
@ FBW
know you may find this difficult to understand with all the Sputnik horsesh@t in your ears. But free press, means free press. As in, even if some, all, or no one disagrees with a pundits views, they still have a right to express them.
That is absolute and total hogwash. Sputnik and RT both have total editorial freedom from the Russian govt. Abby Martin proved that on the air.
The only reason US media stands on the “free media” soap box vis a vis Sputnik and RT is b/c they get funding from the Russian govt. They both in fact, are corporate structures and have real revenue none the less.
The west is full of media that is state funded. But I suppose the US media technically isn’t. But it does get the same result regardless. They follow the line of the state dept. If they don’t stick within the rules, they don’t get access. And there’s not necessarily anything wrong with that. There’s legitimacy with both models.
Who’s to say state sponsored media is less legit than corporate media anyway ? Handing the airwaves over to Rupert Merdochs media empire. Is that supposed to have some moral standing ?
http://www.unz.com/article/russia-the-800-pound-gorilla/
Size does matter and so does range and speed whenever anyone talks about weapons. It seems that there is a great deal of confusion which perpetuates itself in regards to a relatively small Russian military contingent in Syria. The most popular indicator of this confusion is a never ending discussion of a possible American attack on the Russian forces in Syria, primarily on the air base Khmeimim. Can such an attack, once one considers the size of forces US can deploy against Russians, succeed in “defeating” them?
This is both a legitimate but also a highly unprofessional question. In fact, there are many people of prominence in the US who apart from considering such a terrifying scenario are actually pushing for it. Lieutenant-Colonel Ralph Peters doesn’t mince words when it comes to attacking Russians; in fact, he is a very straight to the point guy when giving prescriptions on how to fight those Russians: This could spin out of control very, very fast. If it does, we have to win rapidly and decisively — and keep it within Syria…..
……If the Russian contingent in Syria had been deployed there say in 2005, there would have been no problem in imagining Ralph Peters’ scenario. But it is not 2005 and an 800 pound gorilla, which many continue to ignore, in the room is Russia’s stand-off capability—it is simply much better than the American one and it opens an operational door, in case of a hypothetical conventional attack on Kheimim, for a massive retaliation against any US asset in the region.
Yesterday, in the wake of the death of Lieutenant General Asapov in Syria, allegedly with some “help” from the so called Coalition in the vicinity of the liberated Deir-ez-Zor, Russia’s strategic aviation launched long-range stealthy X-101 cruise missiles at ISIS targets in Syria. There is nothing new now in Russia’s using 5,500+ kilometer range cruise missile, nor is there news any more for the Russian Navy being able to launch 2,500+ kilometer range 3M14 of Kalibr family from anywhere in the Eastern Mediterranean or the Caspian Sea. These are ranges which are simply beyond the reach of any stand-off weapon in US arsenal with Tomahawk TLAM-A Block II having the maximum range of around 2,500 kilometers while TLAM Block IV, currently being most produced variety, having the range of 1,600 kilometers.
Is the augmented/virtual reality head display (where the pilot can see through the jet) something new that only the F 35 has ?
I heard about this years ago. Assumed most 4.5 gen had it
@Multirole
With zero collaboration from Chinese airforce and zero international partnership, I dont think theres a chance of getting it in production. That’s a double whammy. Plus there will be competition from TFX, Pak Fa and the UAE/Russia tentative agreement.
And there’s always a chance that Russia won’t want to sell engines for something that is cutting into their business.
@TR1
If the 2016 election in the US and the 2014 to 2017 Syrian war did not make you question what you thought was functional independent media, then nothing ever will. But hey. Be a xenophobic patriot. You have every right. Anyone who thinks that Russian media is propaganda simply because its Russian, is a classic xenophobe.
@FBW
Again, you really have to suspend belief to buy this garbage. This type of propaganda is aimed at those who want to believe US-ISIS collusion so much that even when the evidence released contradicts that premise, some buy it wholeheartedly.
No not at all. US has always played footsie with the Gulfs proxy armies. Look at Afghanistan in the 80’s and even Bosnia in the 90’s. Why the hell would this be any different ?
Russia loses more face than it gains with reporting this. How is it in their favor that one of their commanders got killed ? It ups the ante for them and it plays badly at home inside Russia. Russians will want revenge. And the Russian leadership is not big on revenge. (See su 24 shoot down and ambassador assassination)
Russia is telling the world this, because they just want the truth out there. Because it will come in handy if they are forced to retaliate.
@ Y 20 bacon
What is it that makes the EF so expensive to operate ?
Burns lots of fuel ? Or are they the Bugatti of the jet world ? Blown tire $20,000. Set of brake pads $10,000
@Kenneth
Lol well.. Its a socialist govt. They wont like the capitalist idea of selling ad space on their jets.
@QuantumFX
Interesting answer.
Su-27/MiG-29 like situation. FC-31 is twin-engined and would be redundant.
Really ? I never really assumed that the J 20 could be an all purpose aircraft. I thought it was an interceptor/fighter hybrid that was geared toward taking out US tankers. There’s nothing really conventional about the J 20 mainly because of its size. The fC 31 is the opposite. It is as conventional of a design that it gets.
CAC is now rumored to be designing a stealthly version of the J-10,
Wouldnt the FC 31 be easier..
