    @Scar

    No. A close call in the biggest war game for the Russian federation since the USSR is not a disaster.

    what will they replace them with? I’m guessing a French product. They should just find some good used stuff somewhere

    @Scar. what… did half a dozen ppl get killed ? Cuz that what a *Fing disaster* is.

    What actually happened is called a close call.

    and guess what… close calls don’t count.

    Some are saying that the US bought the recently for sale su 27 that was floating around in the classifieds last year. This is it.

    size and RCS are not relevant to each others. A B2 for example has an RCS several order of magnitude lower than it’s surface area.

    Yes they are. And the B2 example does not validate your statement. If you took the same B2 and shrunk it in total size by 15%, it would be more stealthy than the originally sized one.

    This is an unjust war if there ever was one. But the pilot was just doing his job.

    I’d like to see every one of their air assets fall out of the sky

    The whole point of a light attack aircraft is to simplify things and have something less expensive to store, maintain and fly. Sure this Scorpion thing is cool looking and probably goes like hell. But thats not the point.

    Watch the Scorpion win. Then we will read about cost overruns, technical issues and pilot training issues.

    According to reports, the co-pilot helped the three parachutists jump, but then turned to see the pilot’s seat empty and his door wide open.

    He then grabbed the controls and landed the helicopter safely.

    The search for the pilot, who fell several hundred metres in the incident on Sunday, was resumed on Monday after police and troops were forced to abandon their efforts at nightfall.

    The reason for the pilot’s fall remains a mystery.

    The sliding door alongside the pilot seat had been opened and the radio connection between the pilot and other crew members had been cut, Belgium’s Nieuwsblad reports.

    Police are investigating the incident.

    Suicide. What else could it be ?

    How is the new Franco German fighter going to be incorporated into discussion about Dassault ? Similar to the Euro fighter I guess.

    Which means that the Dassault brand, will be seen as a 2nd tier , that builds only 4th and 4.5 gen aircraft. And im saying this as a stealth skeptic.

    Dassault should think about stealth skinning and hiding the engines a little better , on at least one product line, otherwise they’ll get taken to the cleaners by FC 31, F 35 and the UAE/Russian concept.

    @Spudman

    Thanks to the Ukraine precedent, ( the US not respecting neutral, non aligned status of countries, as stipulated in Budapest Memorandum), China and Russia must defend NK at all costs. Because the US will try and make a colony of it at any chance. Then comes color revolutions and the missile shields ect

    They did last time. Both China and the USSR went to war with the US over Korea. Russia in more of an advisory position but China proper attacked last time.

    NKorea is shooting missiles off b/c it sees the USs shows of force and exersises the same way that we see its missile launches.

    NK is trying to force the US into negotitation.

    As for assets , Russia and China will not tolerate an attack from the US here. It would be a war with Russian and Chinese air forces and anti aircraft assest. It would be a gong show. Dog fights would break out. US tankers would be attacked ect.
