Berkut taking the classy road like usual..:stupid: Even when the poster was open about the question.

Anyway. There was rumors on Twitter awhile back that Russia was bringing in tactical nukes as a deterrent and as a defacto human shield of sorts. These rumors were going around just after the western axis shot missiles over the Russian’s heads in Syria and then started talking regime change.

Laugh all you want about the rumors. What options did Russia really have if the US was planning on contesting Russia’s no fly zone ? Would the US not be a bit more cautious if they knew that there was tactical nukes sprinkled around Russia’s presence ? That might get hit by bombs if a hot war started ? It wasn’t about using them. It was about the risk of hitting them in a hot war

We don’t know if Tu-160M2 is to blame for the other axed program.. something tells me the overall economy is the issue..
What kind of Destroyer class was on the table?

And… there it is. The token jab at the Russian economy. When Japan decides not to continue its 5th gen program. Nothing is said about the Japan economy. But for Russia, everyone is an armchair economist. Allow me to correct your wrongheaded assumption. There is no such funding issue. This big projects are decided on, from a whole host of factors. Not simply funding.

Quick little lesson on intl banking. When a country is experiencing deleveraging and capital outflow, it sells forex reserves. When a country is stable, it buys forex reserves.

Russia’s central bank will spend Rbs6.3bn ($110m) a day on forex transactions from February 7 to March 6, the finance ministry said in a statement on Friday. The move follows a steady rally in the Ruble.

The rumors floating around about the fulcrums engines is a bunch of hooey. This jet has been in service for decades. Russia has been building serviceable jet engines with pristine records since the jet engine was invented.

Will it keep up ? depends. The Mig 29-35 is a sleazy little jet. Note the engine spacing and the nub in between them

^Yeah Yeah. The latest gutter move by the western media. Hey there’s a Muslim republic in Russia. Lets make up some stories about how they treat gays.

TFX thread was deleted under the justification that it refers to a plane actually existing on paper only: FC-31 exist, has flown and there are two different prototypes actually running.

    This is a fair policy.

I still think China gets too many points for these hybrid domestics.

It looks so much different. I knew it at first glance. Engine spacing and wheelbase still sure looks mig 29

Tail was Raptor in the J 31 and now F 35 in the FC 31

Wow the US just threw a spanner into things. This is going to kill any trust Erdogan had with the US. This will make Erdogan rethink NATO. This will compel him to make terror on the Kurds.

Within 24 hours of President Donald Trump’s administration announcing America’s plans to arm Kurdish groups in Syria, deliveries of weapons and other equipment have begun arriving into the country’s northern region.

The most rediculous thing that I have heard on some other forums regarding Russian presence and objectives in Syria is that Russia has already achieved its goal and they can have the Syrian western coast and a permanent presence in Latakia even if Syria cease to exist…. I dont know if these morons even have any brains to understand that its impossible to have such a fantasy land as long as the moderate Jihadis are armed with BM-21 Grads and possibly longer range projectiles courtesy their western masters eager to kick some Russian ars.

Somebody is mad. Not just because they used the contradiction “moderate jihadi”

Russia could flatten every single “moderate jihadi from Damascus to Mecca if it wanted to. There are nuclear powered warships docking at “the coast”. Russia has enough firepower there to protect these assets from state actors. Real armies with air forces and cruise missiles. But hey watch out Russia ! The Syrian Moderate democratic Jihadis of the Levant will get you with their Grads.

8,538 Vox says the estimates are up to 10,000 Russians, I think it’s about half as much.

There is no way in hell. No more than 1500. Unless they took their phones and computers away

Interesting how a US strike at an airport brings such an outrage from Russia, whilst neither they nor the regime pay absolutely no lip service to rather regular Israeli airstrikes.

Syria and Israel have a special relationship. They have an old deconfliction arrangement but they let Israel get away with bombing munitions heading from Iran to Lebanon

I agree w/ Saber. I don’t think the DA is worthwhile. The new 160’s will be money
