There´s an ungodly number of descriptions of “FCAS” in the internet!

    https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/uk-and-france-agree-on-interim-fcas-work-432509/
    https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/new-22-billion-anglo-french-fcas-phase-announced-422866/
    http://www.defensenews.com/articles/britain-france-agree-on-15-billion-plan-for-combat-drone

None of those links pertained to Sweden.

To think that these programs unquestionably implied that Dassault and Gripen were basically going to stop evolving their product line and thus, phase out completely as time went on, is folly.

With the air sampling missions there was also a need for CBRN training of the crews, and inflight / pre- / post-flight personal contamination monitoring and testing. It wasn’t just a case of strapping on pods and launching.

apparently the western media needed some anti Russian scare mongering training too

you do realize Olive is a type of green right?

Yeah. He kinda admitted that the color is in the green family. So I think we have to give you the win on this one.

sweden is a partner in neuron project so clearly they intend to have one at least for A2G
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault_nEUROn
    earlier they built a demonstrator
    http://saabgroup.com/Media/news-press/news/2005-11/A-successful-first-flight-with-FILUR/

the gripen E will last to 2050 and its futile to predict what will be relevant by that time when its time for a new fighter,
i dont think any current fighter will be upgradable to fit A2A then

Hmm this indicates that France and Sweden are leapfrogging the last manned 5th gen. So yeah. This counts.

The program has three stated goals:

To maintain and develop the skills of the participating European aerospace companies’ design offices, which will not see any other new fighter programs before 2030 now that the Rafale, Eurofighter and Gripen projects are all complete or well underway.
To investigate and validate technologies that will be needed by 2015 to design next-generation combat aircraft.
To validate an innovative cooperation process by establishing a European industry team responsible for developing next-generation combat aircraft.

maybe not in the next 10 years. Some of the people in this forum be like “Rafale is a stealth aircraft”.

that said, I would really like to see them make one.
The French don’t disappoint in aircraft design
    and neither do the Swedes

but Saab did make a concept model (and a miniature flying one) called FS2020 which looks more or less like a Stealth Gripen
a bit ugly and its internal bay doesn’t seem like it can carry any meaningful loads besides basic air policing.
I think there can be no such thing as a stealth light fighter, due to the bay issue, it’s gonna be at least medium weight (around F-35 and MiG-29) and heavier.

Cool. I don’t think this is ugly.

Watch someone on this thread be like ” “Rafale is a stealth aircraft” no less stealth than the Pak Fa brah” Which is of course, complete and utter nonsense.

The light in a Cloudy weather is even more blue because the red and yellow light from the sun is filtered by the cloud layer.

The perceaved color of a object is the product of 3 functions:

1- the spectrum of the illuminant (which can be a mix of primary and secondary sources)
2- the spectral reflectance of the object (the “color” you are looking for)
3- the sprectral response of the observer (camera sensor or human eye)

Then the brain or the Image signal processor must perform a white point to neutralize the whites (this requires the aptitude to recognize white or grey objects is the scene).
This can be very complicated because you can have grey objects illuminated by different light sources in the same scene.

Anyways, what you are asking for, is the spectral reflectance of the J-20’s paint (a perfect neutral grey would be a flat curve with the same reflectance for all wavelengths of the visible spectrum).
This is impossible to know from a picture because you don’t know the 2 other functions nor how the camera did its white point.

If you want to know the “real color” (ie the spectral reflectance) of an object you need a calibrated source and a calibrated spectrometer like this guy :

You seem to be knowledgeable in this domain. What color would you say it is ?

No. It is Su-27’s that are modernized to SM3 level at KnAAZ. Su-33’s are updated in Zhukovsky.

    Wrong. Berkut is wrong.

[QUOTE=Y-20 Bacon;2379401]the problem is, the sky color during the era of model 2001 and 2002 were usually grey. This is China we’re talking about and when those reveals and flights took place, there were always smog or cloudy weather

It does look matte black with an ever so slight tinge of dark green in there. Like this except 50% less green in it

    Dark grey.

You think that you are being all objective and sensible by just saying what color it most looks like to the naked eye in this one. So you say dark grey. But when it comes to the H6, you do the opposite. Clearly in the pic in the bright sky, the H6 looks white.

And 2001 doesn’t look dark grey. To the naked eye, tt looks matte black. Like this

It turns out there are many shades of grey (way more than 50), along with any other colour…fancy that?!

Yeah. Which proves that it makes the most sense to call the H6 white.

    Light grey.

These J 10’s are light grey. So you’d have to call the H6 light light grey or white

And the Bear would likely report “Nothing detected, nothing to see here Comrade….move along….”

Has the Russian press or gov’t reported anything on this “incident”?

What incident ? See ? This is exactly what I mean. This is a story void of details but it pumps up animus to Russia. If Russia says nothing, ppl will be suspicious. If Russia says that they don’t believe its a problem , ppl will be suspicious. Russia cant win no matter what is said

They are probably measuring radioactivity on such a scale that it doesn’t actually mean anything. There was a report out there that showed how animal migration changes would actually change the radioactivity of an area if you measure it small enough.
