Here is one with a full internal load. I have found only “company artist renderings” for external loads so far.

I have always wondered why the Nimrod had such an odd fuselage profile and not being from the UK, I never had the drive to figure it out… till I saw this. Turns out it’s a normal fusalage profile with an unpressurised weapons & sensor “bulge” the entire length of the plane. Smart.

Something about integrated engines into the wings looks so right. It looks like that how it ot to be.

If the izdeliye 5B and izdeliye 5BM that should have been more advanced versions than the MiG 31M (izdeliye 5) were fantasies, these came from a book that I did not know that belonged to the fiction class, like this:

Flight Craft 8: Mikoyan MiG-31: Defender of the Homeland
    By Yefim Gordon,Dmitriy Komissarov
    https://books.google.com.br/books?id=P7LWCgAAQBAJ&pg=RA1-PA16&lpg=RA1-PA16&dq=flight+8+MiG+31&source=bl&ots=18-frFYf-c&sig=BPetg2OT8u2BLNMTY2P3isB3CzI&hl=pt-BR&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjLm43rocfRAhWDFJAKHdRsA2wQ6AEISTAJ

In almost all mentions about the MiG 31M (izdeliye 5) like in this book it has been always mentioned that the MiG 31M has been equipped with new engines like the D30F6M, though this has been look more like new version of the D30F6 from MiG 31B/BS than new engines, otherwise the N007M radar and the R37 missiles from MiG 31M are quite different than N007 and R33 from MiG 31B/BS

It should be very important aspect about the MiG 31M about its maximum weight of 52t, which would put this above the maximum weight of MiG 31 B / BS of approximately 46t, once the engines like D30F6 (MiG 31B / BS) and D30F6M (MiG 31M) has been apparently show the same thrust , than it would reduce the T/W ratio of MiG 31M while compared with MiG 31B/BS.

It seems that the MiG 31M (izdeliye 5) has been under-powered when compared with MiG 31B / BS, so it is possible that the MiG 31M (izdeliye 5) had been used as development aircraft for more advanced versions like izdeliye 5B and izdeliye 5BM, about those new version has not been available informations so far.

If the new engines like R179-300( 20,500 kg of thrust) had been developed for S 37 , which there are not confirmation by any source, as well as the D30F11( 14,500 kg of thrust) and the Al 41F( 17,500 thrust) of the MiG 1.44 MFI with flat nozzles TVC 2D that has not been assembled into S 37 and MiG 1.44 either, than it would be quite strange that S 37 were equipped with R 179-300 intead the MiG 31M.

Such simple analysis can demonstrate that there are at least small contradictions between the development of the S 37 with R 179-300 engines and the MiG 31M with D30F6M engines. Just to remember that R 179-300 engines had been developed in the same time of the program MiG 31M.

Then Al 41F has been developing since the 90’s with MiG 1.44 MFI , so why it were not assembled on the S 37 instead of the supposed D30F11 and R 179-300? After all why should have been developed three different engines (Al 41F, R 179-300 and D30F11) for only two fighters like MiG 1.44 MFI and S 37?

In the time from Soviet Union it were not build prototypes for competitions in almost all programs, since competition between the different project offices had been carried out at the design phase, which has been completely opposed from the standard US method like the ATF (YF 22 and YF 23) with two fighters(YF 22 and YF 23) and two engines( YF119 and YF120).

Certainly there are lot of noise about the S 37 , since even the engines itself has been great source of controversy , then any information’s about the results of the S 37 tests has been totally speculative too, especially on the fact that wings had been flapping during the tests.

I have the impression that information about the flapping issue from S 37 were taken from documentary about the S 37 even in the time of the former Soviet Union , once a model from S 37 were put in the wind tunnel and it has been apparently demonstrated the flapping phenomenon since the time of the Soviet Union.

If the wind tunnel model from S 37 had been show the flapping issue, then why the Soviet Union started to build the S 37 prototype after this?

Maybe to prove that the wind tunnel was wrong ….

But would that not be an issue for an attack aircraft like a frog foot replacement ?

Yes and no, it was planned for ATF to be equiped with advanced IRST (AIRST) but it WoV would be much smaller then F-35 EOTS.

F-23 intakes are curved in vertical but also in horizontal plane which complicate analysis of F-23 intake stealth capability:

They are. But so are the Pak Fa’s of course. But that’s a Popular Mechanics fanboy blueprint. The S is more pronounced for demonstration purposes.

Draw a straight line from the engine to the intake. it does not line up with the opening. Not even close.

from below the aircraft that can exposed a very small proportion of the jet engine

You cannot see the engine of the Pak Fa from a direct frontal either.

the high light of intake sucktion throat dimention is wrong in your drawing too

Ok which blueprint do you want this time ? I posted one blueprint. Someone told me that I had to use the prodction blueprint. That is the production blueprint.

So send me on another wild goose chase. What blueprint do you want ?

You mean you posted photo like the one below ? , fan blade are covered by 99% IMHO. Regardless intake bump on F-23EMD was much lower than YF-23 AFAIK

This ?, seem like F-23 was supposed to have an under nose IRST like F-35

Well i don’t know about that Scar.. i mean i value both TR1 and Scar input on this forum.
But it seems to me TR1 stroke a nerve with you Scar, when he posted HIS point of View on Cristian Ortodoks and Religion as a whole.

And yet, you seems to draw the Fait(wild card) card on the infidels are wrong and the Ortodoces is right here..

What TR1 did in his original post was to criticise the holy water thingie on military hardware…….. which is when i think about it pretty right.
    I mean.. come on!!
Are we still living in the cristian Crusade time age like 500 years ago!!!??
Any even worse, how does this look like among the millions of muslims inside and on the borders of Russia whom don’t share the Interfada holy war bullcrap and yet then they see this…. “tradition cristianity holy water” on war machines?

FFS! Leave military hardware and war alone and outside any religion whatsoEVEAH!!
Its all about suffering and disaster anyway when those war machines is being used.

    End of story.

And like usual, its totally lost on this guy that 100’s of millions of people were killed in the USSR under an atheist value system.

And it couldn’t be a proper anti Christian post without voicing concern for the welfare of Muslims.

Because some newspapers shows cartoons of the F-35 in the political sections of their papers frankly means little. The F-35 issue is a non issue to Canadians. Again, if it was such an issue, why are Canadians not protesting in the streets at Trudeau now allowing the F-35 back into the open competition, directly against his campaign promise.

Mate, I lived in Canada for many years and continue to follow Canadian politics. Whether your mother lives there or not means nothing. Sintra backed up my point, the number of Canadians who actually have any idea about the F-35, or any fighter jet in Canadian service, is minuscule.

    This is simply untrue.

    http://poll.forumresearch.com/post/1397/most-dont-think-we-need-stealth-jets/

TORONTO September 30th, 2015 – In a random sampling of public opinion taken by the Forum Poll™ among 1499 Canadian voters, three quarters are aware of the controversy surrounding the proposed purchase of the advanced F-35 stealth fighter jet (74%), and these are the oldest (86%), males (84%), the wealthiest ($100K to $250K – 81%), in Alberta (85%), Conservatives (81%) and the best educated (85%).

Except that it isn’t a scandal, nor would it be accurate to say that it is the easiest to identify. I’m not sure how often you visit your mother, but I can tell you that it does not register as either a scandal, or a major issue in Canada that comes up in conversation (unlike Trump for example, or the stalling of the Canadian Economy). The only reason there was so much media attention directed on the F-35 (or any defense issue in Canada recently), was the campaign promise of Trudeau and subsequent backlash.

How would I know? I grew up an hours’ drive away from the border, and still have family in the area. I visit (them and) Canada regularly and Canadians are regular visitors near my former hometown.

Wrong. You are simply wrong. The F 35 was a top 3 issue for the previous federal govt, the election and this govt. The cartoons prove it. The cartoons depict defense ministers from a decade ago.

Why are you posting all these cartoons on the forum? Some people in Canada don’t like the F-35, we get the message.

Because more than one person incorrectly said that Canadians don’t know or care about the F 35. Reality is, its probably the easiest scandal to identify in Canadian federal politics. The cartoons are some evidence of that. Which is why I posted them. This is the F 35 thread.

The typical Canadian voter doesnt know whats an F-35, or a Super Hornet or a Sopwith Camel. The typical Canadian voter, just like the Portuguese, the German, or the New Zealander voter doesnt give a dam about military hardware. Trudeau could have said that the Hornets were going to be replaced with Hawker Hurricanes that he would still win the majority.

I don’t know where you people got this from but it is totally not the case. Most Canadians know exactly what the F 35 is. It is probably the most popular federal issue right now. You are simply misinformed.

Don’t be dumb. South China sea is the hot spot and Japan is at the forefront. The F35 is even the perfect plane for the situation (discrete, great sensor, long range and safe). There are few doubt that the Marines would be happy to trade their rusty Hornets for the new bird given the vast expense of cold ocean that they have to overfly on each mission.

Not sure if it can be described as a hot spot. China is wrestling security responsibilities of the area away from the US in vintage power projection form. There will never be an actual shooting war. Eventually China and the US will have to write something up.

Hornets have had a rough go of late. But they do have 2 engines

There is about 1% of the Canadian electorate that have any idea what the F-35 is and what the alternatives are. The election of the Liberals had nothing to do with Trudeau’s stand point on the F-35.

That is a fantasy. My mom lives in Canada. I visit her. She has the AM radio going with the news channel on and all I hear about is the F 35 sometimes. For hours. YOu simply have no idea how big of a topic it is.
