Not as fast as the Ruble.

The Ruble was floated and has since stabilized and risen in value. The Pound has been in free fall for the last 6 months

Unless the S-400 is constantly moving around, everybody already knows where it is, making it an easy target.

its a multi component system. Replacement components can be wheeled in. One shot isn’t going to keep an s400 out of commission for very long

Mi-28NM testing, looks like it got those updated wing pods:

    A
And some good footage of it flying around.

These have to be the best flying tanks available

This thing is easily the lowest profile fighter out there. And yes, that is an integral part of low RCS
    Look at that..

The awkward angle of the dorsal fin root with APU intake compromises the aesthetic from forward/dorsal angles I’m afraid. Like the splayed pylons on Super Hornet, once seen it cannot be unseen…

    what ?

    No.

This is a good tactic for Russia. Because one wonders if the US will take the chance at Russia shooting at a Raptor. Because if they hit the Raptor, it will lose its prestige.

don’t discount the rafale, iran buying tons of airbus these days.

Iran is inking as much deals as it can with western companies so that it has economic leverage. Similar to the Mistral ship deal Russia had with France. Russia ended up mopping the floor with France with contract termination fees ect.

Iran is fully capable of engineering their own J-10 class fighter.

That’s just not true. Engines ?

No doubt it could become a highly capable mid-size VLO fighter, but by all accounts the Chinese armed forces aren’t interested. And that’s that.

As for why China isn’t interested in J-31, my hypothesis is that they don’t believe that they will require a manned combat aircraft smaller than J-20 going forward. Or rather, what requirement remains can be filled by J-10s. Of course there are other possible interpretations.

The J 31. Who wants it ? Anyone ? Even the China fans fully admit the 31’s short comings. The concept is a good one. 2 engine F 35 sized fighter. But its reputation is in the gutter.

they will never be politically independent. Russia won’t allow it.
China wishes it KZ was in their sphere though.

That’s a huge oversimplification. Russia built a new space port for a reason. They don’t want to have to rely on countries like this. If Kazakistan wants to go down some western political rat hole, they can.

I would go with the J-31, much cheaper and enough for Kazakhstan, PAK-FA can fly further and has bigger radar, may be even more agility but will be expensive, and you won’t be able to afford many of them. Quantity has quality of its own.

I recommend this piece from garry https://basicsaboutaerodynamicsandavionics.wordpress.com
    good read

SU 30sm or SU 35 would be a better jet with lots of 5th gen tech already and at cheaper prices than the Pak Fa. But they don’t have the vaunted stealthly look.

    was on a J 20 fanpage. They claim the J 20 is a variant of the cancelled J 9. I disagree.
