Mark, please send me your postal address. You can email me at richardtjsmith@hotmail.com. Shells are packed and ready to be sent.:)
Unfortunately it is a sign of the times that we live in. It was obviously not a spur of the moment thing, you would need to plan something like that. Is there a plaque there as well? If not could we all club together? Just a thought.
If this is the seat I think it is then it was actually found bolted to a tractor, apparently the farmer finding it more comfortable than the original tractor seat.
Happy Birthday
Not sure why but I had this perception that all of the Mod’s were old farts, obviously not the case:)
24 year marriage, Jesus! That in itself is worth starting a new thread about:)
And the winner is…
In third place Robbo, second place Eyeonthesky and in first place and winner of the coveted three Brass Shells is…bloody difficult one this…Mark12 with MH434. Mark 12 if you can email me your details I will post them off First Class.
I am sorry to say that I ended this early but it has been a lot of fun, many thanks to all who contributed. I ended it after learning of the permanent exclusion of Tangmere, a key contributor to this Forum. I look forward to chatting again when he is reinstated…enough said.
Absolutely fantastic Robbo…and thanks Moggy, they are indeed brass!
Great pics Adrian and John, some really nice ones in this thread.
Adrian, you certainly haven’t got my back up, I now know what a Ferguson Potato Ridger is so thanks, in fact already given me an idea for a future thread
Is my Spitfire thread really that boring!?! I only started it to try and lift the mood after certain threads were removed 🙁
EN830 the ‘prize’ is listed in the thread. That is the Spitfire thread with the farm equipment and the Mustang thingy that seems to have crept in. Don’y forget…prize giving on Friday, keep em coming!
The Prize
And here it is – better than any Dornier cases that Adrian might have. They will need a good clean, have been in the sea the past 60 years!
Keep these great pics coming, winner announced on Friday:)
Hi, contact info for Brian as follows: brian@cv33en.fsnet.co.uk or phone 024-76302860.
Please tell him I passed his details on to you, I am sure he won’t mind. If he does mind tell him it was someone else!
A couple of things to report:
First – The ‘prize’ has been decided, the winner will be sent ‘First Class’ I might add, three wartime dated brass 20mm Spitfire cannon shells…steady!!
Second – I have today after four years at last managed to obtain the final frame for my Spit project, I now have the complete set from firewall to number 19. Not a word to Mrs. Smith though.
Wow – this is going to be a hard decision as the quality and range of pics is very high. I might need to call on the support of our illustrious and respected moderators to help with the final decision!! 😉
I think I would need to see the original subject matter before commenting further!
