I was pretty careful not to attract any unwanted attention…I wasn’t taking any big souvenirs this time!!..but I did notice that just seconds after leaving the base the Local Base MPโs did arrive…too late to catch me ๐
Same thought process
Hornet at Trenton?
Does anyone know if the CF-118A parked/in storage near the RCAF Museum at Trenton is also going to be part of their collection serial #118778..it appears pretty complete…
A few moreTutors at MW
A few more Tutors at MW…
I have already picked the one I want and the appropriate colour scheme…
I took my pictures of the Mig and Buffalo on the other side of the fence. It still somewhat limited for access but it gives you a better angle for airport activity…you just go thru the Check point north of the museum. It is not a restricted area, as long as you don’t try to climb over any fences…
Thanks for the link to the previous story..and that was the Buffalo I saw at MW..
The Wings seemed to be pretty good shape but they can be cut off kinda rough..
Buffalo’s…………..
Mike
I was there from 11 till 1:30
I noticed one Buffalo stored in one the Hangars, are anymore hidden indoors at MW?
I also noticed a few more newer parts added to the Buffalo stored outside(on the back lot) at the RCAF museum in Trenton..will she be part of the collection in the future?
A complete airframe..and I also go no reply from Lancaster Aviation either…
DND do have a directorate of disposals and sales but I am not sure if they deal directly with the public….
Thatโs great..at least another will be saved from the scrap man…We have tried to acquire a Tutor for a while now but nothing has come of it yet..it might be that they are not comfortable selling to private individuals for static displays but we will continue to try…
Are you acquiring one thru a Crown Assets sale?
Peter,
I have pictures taken three years ago and I would say that quite a few airframes have moved on…
Mike,
I guess I could have probably seen you at the Rally on Saturday..only a few like you and me were taking much attention to the stored airframes,,,
Yes I think I managed to take a picture of ever Tutor stored outside at MW…I would luv to adopt one and take one home…I can post more if you wish?
Are you still trying to catologue all Tutor survivors?
After the last Vickers Viscount passenger flights took place in the England in 1997 was there are interest in keeping one in airworthy condition in the UK? A group like Air Atlantic would have been the perfect home for such fine British propliner.
Could it be one of these stored in Indonesia?
