You can oppose it as much as you want, it wont make the slightest difference. Nobody opposed the proliferation of cameras, in Towns and Cities. So I don’t see much opposition to road pricing. After all, the British people love to pay taxes, and be tracked wherever they go.
The government wants to reduce, rush hour motorway congestion, and road pricing seems to them, the best way to achieve this.
They would also like to see, companies introduce flexible working hours for their employees, which would also help to alleviate rush hour traffic.
Bring back the good old days, when a lot of people were employed more locally, to where they lived.
No chance of that of course, as the service industry is the major employer, and a result of that is traffic, lots of it.

It’s copyright and don’t worry, the nice law people will wake your friend up to attend court… 😉

As to this site, it’s Key’s responsibility. (Forum code of conduct – which you have read, haven’t you? 😀 )

I think it’s amazing that there are so many childish attitudes here and it’s little wonder that there a lot of massive posters here. They probably can’t get away from their computer due to the piles of toys that surround their desks 😉 . Anyway guys it’s been an education being part of some of the “educational” chats here, I’m off.

Going to go on holiday with a sonar tow fish and a group of divers in Scotland to search a body of fresh water. Enjoy yourselves.

Shouldn,t there be more focus on reducing road related deaths??A rare warbird goes in…”shock horror”…but for instance a Ford Escort rolls over after hitting a bump that has been there for ages and is a blackspot for accidents then all that is said is,”oh well”.The presentation of media reports should be balanced and proportional.

It’s never propotional. A friend of mine arrived at the ground without his parachute and the media reported it as something like “Skydiver screamed for 12,000 feet in horror death plunge”. Pull height is 2,500 so he wouldn’t have known that his parachute was going to fail for 9,500 would he stupid journalist.

What a bizarre report! The first half is balanced and careful, the second part… flamin’ ‘eck!

The make it short make it juicy and make it up brigade. Interesting how they quote a 15 year old to give an expert opinion.

That’ll give us, oh, another 2 days of topic then…..

Damned interesting nevertheless – but yes, naughty.

I just had a look round and there are a lot of others with credits so it’s probably just an oversight but wake me up when they get back on topic please.

Springs out of his chair to quote even the ISBN number. Wonder what’s going to be thrown around now. Feeling sleepy….. zzzzzzzzz

I wonder how many pictures that have been shown on here have been checked by him for copywrite statements? Ho hum.

“Sir, the men are looking bored”.

“Give them something to **** them off then Sergeant”.

I can well believe big pits being dug to bury aircraft in. Probably with hand trowels, all stones white washed and roots blancoed.

My father was a professional soldier from the tail end of the war and I remember he told me that his favourite was to get the men under punishment to dig a hole 6ft by 6ft by6ft and when it was dug he would then tell them to “move it” somewhere else. I can believe that big pits were dug too. Didn’t the MUs that were responsible for such things have a lot of massive diggers anyway?

The text and photos of the 109 have been copied verbatim from the 1995 “Diving Guide to The Mediterranean Wrecks” by Kurt Amsler, Andrea Ghisotti, Roberto Rinaldi, Egidio Trainito. ISBN 1-85310-706-9

I see no credit to the Copyright holders on the site linked.

    Ross

    I don’t know about that but it’s a 109 none the less.

Well I hope some good comes out of the search. To find a bit of the 109 would be awsome, however small.Just watch out for bits of Pepsi Max cans…Anything to add of the puzzle would be great in terms of research.Thats the coolest thing about history, theres so much of it..

I’d agree with the majority here. Leave the crew together.
You’d otherwise be opening Pandora’s box.

And also opening doors that have already had closure.

    oh dear god,

i know there are some absolute ******* around but surely not?
    I presume this wasnt kids?

ehhhh hang on ..if its on video….why hasnt someone taken this up with the authorities…or is it something to be carefull of..presecution pending?

I’m sure it wasn’t kids and it was one of those conversations that I only half listened to as far as details was concerned. I know my mate did a story about it and the MOD police were involved but I can’t remember who it was or what the outcome was.

This has to be one of the most disgusting things that anyone can do… cannot beleive that anyone with a scrap of respect for these fallen heroes could do such a thing.

sick isnt the word for it..

Don’t know too much about it but apparently the guy was videoed carrying the remains over his shoulder in a bin liner or something and dumping them. 😡 I will give my friend a call and see what the details were. It was a while ago I heard about it.

From what I have heard, the MOD has a policy that those already in “War Graves” are NOT to be subjected to DNA testing… that is to be reserved for those remains not positively identified as being UK/Commonwealth servicemen.

If they are already identified as UK/Commonwealth servicemen, then that is enough for the MOD.

I was talking to a friend of mine who is a journalist and he was involved in the story of a Tempest V that was excavated illegally where remains were found and the authorities were not contacted. I don’t know the whole story but the point is that they dug up what was supposed to be the pilots “war grave” in order to do DNA tests on what was in the coffin to establish the ID of the remains tampered with. I will get in touch with him and see if there are any other details that I can pass on.

That’s the one! I knew it was something like that. I’ve found when looking at things like this and oter “paranormal” activities such as UFO’s and the like you can often get to the bottom of it this way! 😀

Talking of UFOs. I was skydiving at Headcorn and was going a solo jump and out of the corner of my eye I noticed a shimmering disk. (with imagination in overdrive) I thought WTF…….. Oh……. It’s a helicopter. I’ve never seen one from above before. A few weeks later whilst mindlessly surfing I found the iloveufos.com or whatever it was called and I told them about the story but I just forgot to tell them about the helicopter dangling under the disk. We had a lot of very strange people camping in the fields for a while after that. :diablo: :diablo:

For Allison: You’re entirely welcome – and I agree. That is partly why I persist. Though we can’t expect to agree all the time! Does this mean we have each avoided the silent pit of the mutually elected Ignore? Good!

I never ignore anything. I read it all and then decide what I am going contribute to/answer and that’s it really.
