Just downloading it now. Already have CS2. Have your email address as you’re on the LHR Google group. May take a while to send.

    Cheers mate,

Thanks Paul! I do shoot RAW, but still very new to it really. All the shots you see above are JPGs. I set the camera to RAW+JPG so I can get quick edits on the net the same day they were taken. Usually take much more time with the RAWs, but still need a hell of a lot of practice.

Before I looked at RAW, I was shooting 300-400 shots a week, every week at Luton. Out of them, 200 would be selected and the prospect of processing all 200 in RAW was a bit too daunting.

One thing with the Shadows/Highlights tool is that it creates ghosting around the edges. Any method of reducing that? Regardless, your edit brings out great contrast. The BA 744 needs a bit more, but the others are ok I hope?

    Thanks Paul, and cheers Snogger!

Super shot of the 154 Paul! Interested to know where it was taken from?

Parked in the visitors centre. Virtually empty, apart from a few spotters.

Nice one mate! LHR was really disappointing last night.

Although there weren’t many clouds, the sun got blocked by a wispy layer of cloud and haze. The light just doesn’t compare to the evenings you’ve had! WIll post a few later.

Not sure what the circumstances would be if you showed them receipts proving it’s bought from the UK, but yet imported from America? It’s worth getting in contact with Kerso just to ask him.

Yes some of his stuff is imported from America which is why it’s so cheap. As far as you’re concerned, you’ve bought it from a shop in Scotland and thats what you tell Canon. 😉

    Hi Tartan

I was looking at a Canon 100-400mm on ebay which was at ‘buy it now’ for just under £800 which is about £200 cheaper than I can find anywhere else in UK. However, I suspect that this particular sellers Canon stock is imported from USA. Fine, until something goes wrong and you need to ship it back to Canon. Canon UK won’t touch it…you’ll need to send it to Canon USA which I assume will be a time consuming and costly affair. You might want to check that the items you’re bidding on is actually UK kit, or imported.

    Hi Bob,

Is the 100-400 priced at £850 and it’s from Fife, Scotland. If so, buy it now! I bought mine from Ebay last August from him. He’s a great seller with super communication. Had a few sleepless nights though.

Heres the link for anyone interested:

I don’t own one, but played around with it in a few shops. It’s a great little lens and is very light weight. Got some very sharp results of cars passing the shop window, but ended up going for the 100-400 as the extra 100 telephoto was needed.

    HTH,

The 40D was announced on 20 August 2007 and available in October 2007. 30D stocks are probably clearing quite fast and prices going down.

OMG!! – thanks for that. Went on holiday for a week and completely missed that. Thanks again ….. time to place my order.

Wouldn’t get the 30D just yet. the 40D is due out very soon and when it’s released, prices of the 30D will plummet. I’ve got the Canon 100-400 4.5-5.6 IS, and it’s ideal for air shows.

You’ll find that for most small jets and props you’ll be at the 300 to 400 range, so a prime 300mm or 400mm would be good.
