That’s good news. A good replacement for the older AN-12’s still in service.
“The 13 aircraft are expected to be built using Ukrainian, U.S., and European components, replacing parts previously provided by Russia.”
Does anyone know what components will be American and European made ?
”For the first time at the exhibition, the UDK demonstrated the full-scale sample of the turboprop engine TV7-117ST, developed by the St. Petersburg JSC “ODK-Klimov” and intended for equipping the regional IL-114-300 airliner”
Wait are the Russians still pursuing the Il-114 airliner project ? I thought that was dead….
Could be a large UCAV or small scale demonstrator aircraft for a future bomber
Does the FC-31 have a future or is it still a company funded demonstrator looking for a launch customer ?

not sure if this is real can anyone confirm ?

Here is some interesting HQ footage of the carrier and its air wing….
So if things get nasty between Ukraine and Russia following the referendum I assume that the AN-70 project is dead right ?
That aircraft could have a lot of export potential….

Beautiful aircraft. No idea why the canopy was modified, seeing as the old one provided better visibility….

does this prototype have a new sensor under the nose ?
BTW does anyone know the story behind this mockup ?

2 questions:
1.) Does this mean that production of the old J-10A will soon be discontinued in favor of this variant ?
2.) Why did it take so long to test this variant and get it into production ?
Thanks for your insight! It leaves me with a lot more questions, but I don’t reckon those can be answered without more detailed information.
Is it possible that the Russians may have sold them the technical design data of the Mig 1.44 ? We know that the J-10 bears a strong Lavi influences, the Z-10 received design help from Kamov. Could the J-20 design have some Russian influence ?

Here is an interesting brochure that goes into great detail about the block 60’s capabilities:

I could see some Eastern European countries buying this to replace old soviet equipment. Hell even Argentina might go for these aircraft seeing as they still operate their original fleet of Mirages…
Just wanted to ask a quick question, is the Z-19 entering service with the PLA or is it an export only product ?

Just saw this pic. What exactly do these pods do ?

My guess is that given the fact that countries like the US, the UK and France are more open and provide more access to journalists and countries like China and many non democratic regimes do not, we tend to see a disproportional amount of articles from these nations. Look at how Russia and China kept the development of their stealth fighters secret right up until their first flights. Or maybe the average reader dosen’t care about the air force of some third world backwater.
I am really getting tired of all these damn f-35 articles. All right all right I get it the airplane is over schedule and over budget 😡
I for one would love to see a detailed article on the North Korean air force, but good luck researching that !!!
