1)As per the report, test was done from a vessel in the sea and no one is disputing that not even Pakistan.
    2) Converting an anti ship weapon into a terrain hugging highly discriminating land based cruise missile will adversly effect any benefits of cost saving you will get by converting 37 or so Harpoon missiles Pakistan currently has. They might as well invest that money in Babur production.

If you were a general in the pakistani army and you had picked a fight with India once again, would you try to saturate indians air defense with lots of very expensive missiles or would you use old missiles that are past their use full ness in other ways?

I think its a good idea (economically speaking), it isnt to say that Pakistan does not have better missiles, it probably does but if you can have a few more guided land attack missiles to cause havoc on cheap targets why not?

The idea you are describing sounds plausible. What it fails to take into account is that how many such missiles exist and what kinda range do they possess. How is it useful to modify a missile that has 100 or so km range specially if it will have to be launched way farther from Indian coast due to Indian Navy’s over whelming superiority in numbers. Or would it be worth it to send a PN vessel(from an already small flotilla) in dangerously close littoral waters of Indian coast and fire a missile with very limited range and payload right under Indian navy’s nose? It does not make any sense.

That is indeed true….. its the simple reality… The current leadership here in SL clearly understands this…. Off-course India under Dr. Manmohan singh has not been unreasonable so far. When there could have been a questionable military purchase/action on part of the SL govt. India provided us with an alternative. For example the Indra-II RADARs.

Srilanka has the ability to stay neutral and act independently and pursue it’s relationship for mutual benefit with India, China and Pakistan in dehyphenated manner without having to antagonize any of the above. It will be extremely foolhardy and short sighted of Srilanka to let itself be used against India. But in the same vain India wouldn’t be allowed to create another LTTE. Srilanka has showed the nerve to stand up and safeguard it’s interest inspite of all the noises by Indian South bloc.

As for QuantumFX/HyperXYZ, this is the first time i have met a Srilankan (allegedly) -and i have met quite a few- who loves to choke and gag on someone who waves their d!ck about some imaginary and quasi monroe doctorine in Indian ocean.

    1. What I claimed was backed up with a source.

    2. What you claim is pure speculation. Common knowledge for a few many Pakistanis who would like to believe that everything India develops is Russian because they can sleep better believing that.

Didn’t know Bharat Rakshak was being run by Pakistanis 🙂

    http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/MISSILES/Prithvi.html

The two Prithvi liquid engines are derived from scaling down the 30-ton Valiant engine and scaling up the Russian V-755 engine used by SA-2 surface-to-air missile,

    3. The reasons for Russia selling stuff to China was clearly explained multiple times.

Yep, then Russians should simply put up and shut up if they still want to sell stuff and make money. After all the same company opened up their office in China for customer ease of access. You would think these guys would be making a case for trade sanctions.

They are number 1 in that list. Pot Kettle Black !

Ditto! When every nation does it when it suits them then don’t pick on others and act like compelete saints.

It is neither acknowledged by India nor claimed by Russia. While you have Sukhois head admitting that China stole Su 27 design in making J 11.

It’s common knowledge and noone denies it. Do you really think Russians dont know it or they are keeping mum because they have cash cow to milk? If you are going to come up with this kinda arguement then you should also ask the same Sukhoi cheif why the heck is he and his country selling other stuff to China.

but on the other hand, say Chengdu made a new aircraft that was clearly based on the design of the P.1101.. the Chinese nationalists will deny it was a copy.. they will say its original because it has some Chinese parts, then they for some reason, will attack the “west” and the rest of the world, bring up a bunch of irrelevant comparisons and information to divert attention away from the main issue, and then claim everyone is racist 🙂

    Hello Sausage,

You have nationalists in every nation an country. If i am not wrong CAC’s test pilot for J-10 detailed Israeli cotribution to J-10 quite extensively (including what he learned from them as a test pilot). So tell me why you are so keen on happily accepting acknowledgement of Russians/West, but so insistent on getting admission from so called Chinese nationalists and not people who actually took part in the project?

    4. Copying a Russian plane is the issue and that is countered with American rights abuses

Can you please give us the total amount of royalties India paid to Russia for their engine tech that went into Prithivi since you are so anti- reverse engineering/copying of technology?

Asking this question out of my respect for IP onlee.

What is innovative/interesting about this wing design ? any aerodynamic guru can make a good analysis of the conceptual design of MCA

My knowledge is proly even less than a novice but this to me resembles cranked delta of F-16 XL. Better handling at high speeds and lower alititude were attributed to this wing design. I could be entirely wrong though 🙂

    Second attempt …. I’ve never seen a green radome on a LSP-LCA !

    Deino

I have seen picture of an early TD being disassembled and various parts being salvaged for reuse. Infact here is the link
    http://ajaishukla.blogspot.com/2009/02/king-is-dead-long-live-king.html

Perhaps they simply reused the radome from that TD-1 on this LSP LCA.

The same intelligence sources which said Saddam Had WMD . While the proliferation by Pakistani scientists is acknowledged by the whole world.

Where were these sanctions I wonder…..

Not surprised with that answer 😉

The sanctions were applied selectively against the individuals involved. Even incase of Iran SC applied sanctions selectively against few people and some organizations involved in nuclear activity.

There are few Indian defense organizations (and for that matter Pakistani )which have faced similar restrictions and still do. Do recall how US reacted when it found out an Indian individual who had illegaly transfered militay grade processors to India not in distant past.

Infact just scratch that, i don’t want to awake you from your honeymoon dream. :dev2:

No Indian scientist has ever proliferated Nuclear weapons. This particular Pakistani scientist in question has and the international community acknowledges that. But what you say is probably true regardless. 🙂

I am sure you’ll have an excuse of some sort for this as well but atleast i can try 🙂

“The Bush administration has imposed sanctions on two Indian scientists for selling nuclear technology to Iran and is planning additional arms-related sanctions, U.S. officials said. “

It should make much more sense for Iran to develop LO cruise missiles a la Taurus, but ground and air launched, in particular if they combine it with chemical warhead, so no time to find gas-mask even.
That is much more likely to deter USA and Israel than even an improved PAK-FA could hope for.

You mean something along these lines 😉
