I just thought if anyone was interested I might put a few pics up, what a great day!!!
Well guys I kept asking myself, “was I actually watching a Mosquito fly?” even Wal who owns Avspecs kept saying that he could not believe there was a Mossie on the flightline before us.
Did I say she flew very low??

Nice formation

Business end

Nice earned rest at the end of the day…..

Hi Matthias
Thank you very much for the update. It is great to see a German shop rebuilding German airframes. I can only imagine the work that must be going into such a project. And I thought my Auster rebuild was a big job!!
Thanks again, your updates are much appreciated
Cheers from the other side of the world in NZ

As you can see….some vestiges of that orange paint still lives on!

Love how the perspex panels have been glued(??) into the front frame. However it would have helped keep the weather out.
This photo you posted has answered many questions I had regarding her time after she stopped flying and I got her in Australia.
Dont suppose you have any more?
Thanks again, this pic made my day!

Yes mate, that is the one!!! WE552/HKG4 10 yrs after she stopped flying.
As you can see, she is slowly returning to her former glory. I could have brought a flying Auster with the $$ it has taken me to get her here from Brisbane and too this stege…..Aaaah but it has been fun so far bringing this ole girl back to her former original self
Before…..
After/now……
Did you get my email?
I would love hi-res copies of these.
Cheers
Anthony
Thanks for the heads up Tony.
Sounds like a worthy project for someone to take on.
I would love to know more about this ole girl. Sounds like a Mk 5 possibly. These can have wartime history for those that are looking for that.
Keep us posted Tony. I would be interested but I am past the point of no return with my T7 rebuild. I have thrown way more money at her than what she is worth on the market, but that is not what it is about.
Hopefully the little Auster will get some much more due recognition one day.
Cheers

I agree with Mark……..cracker photo
Hi Stan
Can help with GIpsy Major bits if you need them?
Did you find that Auster oil tank that Damon mentioned?
Cheers
Anthony

Andy, my book arrived today and I am totally engrossed in it already. Amazing story and subsequent rebuild.
Stand by for that Merlin III powered Auster!
