    Were the original prop blades ‘plain’ wood, or were they resin impregnated also?

    I don’t know where you are located, but there is an operable Link trainer, a C-8 I believe, at the Museum of Flight Restoration Center in Everett, WA. I know visitors have been given ‘rides’ in said trainer, but I do not know about scheduling its use, etc.

    I know that may not be much help, but good luck.

    BTW, I have been in that Link, and can assure you that after 20 minutes I exited, weak in the knees and covered sweat! ;-}
