Timbo I’ll see what I can do. There are some quite distressing photos of 168 getting the chop on Facebook if your interested. Also some great shots of the jets in Basra.

X-Servicing/Base Flights.
Hello Fouga(Nasty Loud Little Things),
Most if not all of the NATO bases in Europe had a Base flight(VisitingAircraftServicingSection). In time of war it was our job to service any of a range of aircraft in 1hr and send them on their next sortie.Laarbruch did mostly Photo aircraft while I was there but the main ones were.RF4C/E,FGR2,Harrier GR3,Mirage F1CR,Mirage111/V,F16,Tornado and Alpha Jet. This was part of the Cross Servicing programme which meant we were treated to Ample Gain Meets at least once a year. The various courses we went on were some of the best experiences of my career and an excellant insight into the other NATO(and French) Airforces.
Hello all,
I recognise that zap very well and am even guilty of a few myself-mostly on Mirage Vs and a few Tooms . It comes from Vass/Station Flight RAF Laarbruch BFPO43. Used to cut them fom card using a master. The motto was “all flap no fly”.Dates back well before the Falklands as we had a mural with above motto and penguin shaped Hunters, which I believe were used by the station flight back in the 60s………….
I am indeed but don’t tell anyone!!!!!!!!!!!! Not all the photos are mine, we pooled a load. There are some really good photos on face book from Basra on the 39 sqn page if your interested. Just wish someone would put some money into getting a PR9 back into the air-hate to say it but we have more than enough Spitfires…..(IT IS A WARBIRD)of sorts after all!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure which one it is…The RTIF paint was taken off after they came back on some but obviously not all of the jets.
Canberra picky………
Shame to see her going that way………….don’t think the other will ever get airborn again.Pity they were given access to almost all of 39’s spares and tooling.. just after cash I suppose……………………..

Thanks for the reply…not a photographer myself but having spent a few years there I wondered what had happened to Bracebridge Heath and the whole of Lincoln? But as you say “who cares”
