If only!!!!!!
Hi there- saw the same pod a few years ago and the inards were still inside- infact some of the phoenix lot were trying to start it! even though half of the controls were missing such as speed switches and gauges! They may be able to help you. By the way I did retire to a safe distance on the remote chance that the thing spun up!!!!
Who thinks the one in Mississippi will fly??? Just testing the water!
Please dont think I’m trying to hi-jack this post , but “Hello !” Uncle Keith!!! How are you ?
Just a quick question.. hello Les by the way… Do you need to pressurise the cockpit to fly at the height that you would as a civvy warbird? I know the jets we’re high on pressurisations, but you’re not going to be flying at **000 odd ft in the circuit at Duxford are you???? :dev2:
How about an A7 of F8??? We are Americas’ Aircraft Carrier!!after all!! Seriously a few American exotics would be nice-and whoever said “No” to a Tomcat in the UK needs a good talking to!!!!
Hello Milt, hows tricks? To everyone, hello! Thanks for clearing up a few of the rumours around the project! As you know the aviation family love to spread rumours and mis-truths.The stall is basically a labour of love by 2 very dedicated(some say mis-guided) individuals who spend long hours driving to the ends of the country for a project that they believe in quite deeply so please come along and say hello to the guys. The money raised goes to the project. Most of who are (again, some say mis-guided ) volunteers, and apart from Milt are normally fairly sober!!
Thanks Cees, I know its an “Inland sea” but was’nt sure if it was open to the Northsea or has everbeen. Thanks again. Dank U..?
Cees ,
Just a quick question, and probably been asked before…is the Iselmeer salt water and are most of the Aircraft in it smashed by the initial crashes or by later dredging.? I have a mental picture in my head of almost complete aircraft sitting in the mud when thay drained the Polders!!!!
best of luck with the project.. it looks great.
Well you learn something new everyday……………. just remember.. the world hates smug b!*&^%ds!!!!:) thank you
Try this one http://www.lerenfort.fsnet.co.uk- think this has the tanks and loads of other finds on it. Amazing what you can still find….although no Stirlings yet!!
Great shots!- any more “Then and Now” photos out there:)
Would be nice to see at least one of the jets in a museum preserved as they were at the end of their service life. I believe the one at Tossford is silver now, the one outside at Wyton is in Camo and 68 will be grey but away from view at Marham. Lets hope that they dont go the same way as the B(I)8s. there ARE many B2/6s etc but apart from a few cockpits(very nice by the way) not too many PR9s……….perhaps I’m a bit biased
Top Gun
Always thought Meg Ryan was better!!!!! Think she may have gone for the “trout pout” ala Ivy Tilsley now though!!?
Was’nt there a plan to make the “Shack ” a walk through . ? You get a great view of size of the wing span when parked next to the Victor in these shots..
