Is that the Canberra a Warton /Salmsbury by any chance? Some of the lads at 39 had a look at it last year and said it was rotten through– good luck though.
Thanks for that, sound exactly like the one he has . It came from Laarbruch from the J models they scrapped. Will check out E-bay ta.
Nashioo, think you’ll find these were attached to slightly unserviceable Tornados!!! Just off Cleethorpes is what they called “c” sea Flight cos of all they Lightnings they flew into it !
A mate of mine remembers chopping the Vulcon to bits in 88- Still amazes me that they closed Finingley yet left dumps that no one wants to get posted to(thats Marham to you) open. Was’nt it twice the size of Odiham?
Scorpion63, how about a fly past at Brunty? Any news on 874 flying again?..
Is it used for measuring yaw/ sideways drift type thingy????
Hi Les,’fraid to say the paperworks in…just got back from RIAT where at least half of the enginering team are RAF and are waiting for “the best promotion of all…..Mr” .
The Nav no longer goes through the hatch ,although the points are still on the seat headbox. On the photo you can see the MDC (det cord) running around the edge of the hatch. The Navs call the windows “day and night indicators” as thats all they’re good for.
Nice picture Les.. you caught us watching! the display was even better from where we were standing .
ApC104- its hoped that they will be sold as flyers, not least because its less work to transfer ownership without spares recovery…!! as for 169 – may turn up on the main gate……………..! jase
Apart from me being out of a job!!!!! the airshows at Waddo , RIAT and the Open Day at Marham, a lot of Canberra spares packing for the greedy B*7&^rds at DSA no doubt.
please allow me to take a couple of helpings of humble pie…… large portions..me thinks!
Hello Mr Bond ! nice to see a least 1 other trade group one person on here ! was afraid ex-pilots like LesB are taking over… jase… sooty/ sumpy!!! back bone of the RAF..
