She’s a beauty!
I agree Melvyn!
There’s a bunch of Trackers sitting off in the grass at Abbotsford International Airport in British Columbia. I think they may be using some of them as spares for our water bombers. Some of them appear to be in good physical condition. It’s such a shame to see aircraft sit and waste away…

Can you tell me if the Spitfire and Mossie are open for viewing? I live just west of Vancouver and would love to pay a visit.
Cheers,
Todd
That was excellent! Nice post!

Thanks for the info everyone. Here’s a stupid question…Is it possible to get a tour through the old parts of the airbase? My Uncle was stationed there in 1942. I would love to see what it looks like on the inside.
Cheers,
Todd
Are the old control towers still intact at Abingdon? I thought they were scheduled to be demolished for some reason…

Beautiful Photo’s…love the Fury!
Whitley Photos! 🙂
Thanks for the correction Elliott! I very rarely see a British Aviation magazine on sale here in Vancouver… The article was copied and sent to me by a friend in Scotland.
Cheers,

Hi, sorry for the late reply. The Whitley salvage from the Baltic is what I was reffering to. Any info would be great!
Thanks,
Todd
Beautiful photos!
It’s nice to see the Hampden’s on its way back to static display. Was this Hampden salvaged from Russia?
Cheers,
Todd
Scimatar,
I too have a soft spot for the Hampden. I’m lucky enough to live 30 minutes from the only one on static display in the world. Although, I would much rather see a Whitley… I can never see enough Whitley photos. I hope a salvage takes place this year! What is the status of the Hampden being restored in the UK? Any recent photos?
Cheers,
Todd
Canadian Forces C130 Transport, Vancouver to Wainwright, Alberta 1985. The pilot didn’t pressurize the aircaft right and we all had bloody noses. Including a Colonel. There was hell to pay when we landed! A lovely introduction to aircraft I might add…
