uk, germany and italy co-operated over the torando, then spain came onboard for the typoon.
france and sweeden are looking to come onboard if we were to bild anything else as the costs of building a plane are considered too high

And although the percentage of urban people is smaller than that of the rural people, (I don’t know what the percentage is, but let’s just give it a low number and say urban people make up 10% of China), that’s 120 million people right there! which is more than every European countrie’s population bar Russia.
Err no
The new EU with 10 eastern bloc and med islands takes up to 450 million – that without a lot of eastern European countries
But your point is that in a nation of 1.25 billion , 100 million is very little
TTP – your accusations that it communism don’t work and show your understanding of china up a bit mate ๐ – they are communist in name only – they are really a dictatorship trying to keep order with no real political idea of where they are going. Your call for democracy is equally laughable as your own countrymen in their recent “nation building” exercise show us that true democracy is a bad thing and they won’t risk it
Liberal reprehensive democracy that doesnโt produce a democratic result is what you want – what china want and PLA wolf has pointed out is to avoid fragmentation and a return to the state they were in pre 1949 for about 150 of war lords, etc, etc – which under stable in such large nation is a justifiable fear

you both miss the point – the EU has **** all to do with defence, as much as the French would like it too the EU has no defence policy at all as 5+ of the 15 members don’t want it to have one – defence is either neutral or NATO
Building the a-400 isn’t an “EU” project it is just a project between umpteen European nations (inc non EU members)
The EU is *just* a free trade / economic area and feck all to do with defence (evil French trying to change it)
anyway……….
Iโm (as a brit) quite happy for you to stay – hell you guys need/want a base somewhere in Europe but keeping a-10s and f-16s is different to having a transport hub in Europe
As it goes for collectively building a plane together we pioneered it as a concept but our defence industries don’t lend themselves to completion – ever nation has its own monopoly that is a job programme the gov has to support with contracts (and its got feck all to do with welfare). You in the states will get this – look Lockheed Martin have the JSF but thatโs where military aviation has ended with one contract. The rest WILL die – Boeing will stick to its monopoly in airlines, Northrop Grumman is reduced to subcontracting. ie you soon will get to where we were 30/40 years ago
This will mean the US military will have to buy Lockheed and will do to support your own self sufficiency and other BS excuses – the military industry doesnโt lend itself to competition
Several European (NOT EU) nations have tried co-operation –
First with UK and France (Jaguar),
Then UK, Germany and Italy (Tornado)
And now the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain (Typhoon)
Its very difficult but its nothing to do with welfare just the natural progress of defence industries
You give example of merc and Ferrari but they are in open competitive industries – not in defence industries.
Oh and did I say welfare has feck all to do with it

a) OPEC controls 40% of the world market
b) Saudi Arabia is the main country in the world with the most spare capacity (a LOT of spare capacity)
c) The target price by open for oil is $25 a barrel – for Saudis $21 / $22 is break even and $23 / $24 pays national debt
d) Russia is coming online spectacularly BUT they have higher costs than Saudi and the infrastructure isn’t all there
e) Venezuela is a problem
f) The USA only imports about 10% of its oil from the Middle East (but Venezuela – above – is a big source)
g) In terms of oil demand it goes down in the summer BUT rises in the winter as North America uses oil for heating unlike Europe that uses natural gas – hence in winter prices rise
h) Iraq was contributing 3% to world oil pre war but has the second largest reserves
Actual effect on war for the UK will be a petrol price drop of 4 to 6 pence (nb chancellor raises tax by 1p so 3p to 5p) – thatโs on a litre costing on average round my way 79.9p at wartime rates
So on the Iraq front the infrastructure and stuff will take time to set up again – it will be in the US’s interest to keep prices high to pay for reconstruction – as Iโve said $25 is the world goal, keeping the price at $25 stop the world economy form overheating or going into recession ๐

Democracy in the true sense of the word is a myth – the majority never gets its way
Itโs either some doggy representative democracy (e.g. UK and USA) or PR (Europe) that ends up with all groups with an interest governing
i.e. at the end of the day Iraq won’t be able to go to war with Israel, turf Americans out or cut the oil supplies and most importantly they be locked into a liberal stance (i.e. no Islamic state)
Welcome to the wonders of liberal democracy – the democracy is limited by the liberalism ๐
