RE: Airport pic of the day- 01/04/02
problem is they would have done so if it was economical – thats why hte planes are there.
also i was reeading about the boneyard (the military version of this place) – it has so many UH-1 Hueys that the helicopter industry would collapse if the us gov sold them off !!!

RE: Falklands Remembered
a terrible conflict that should never have happened.
the paper is now saying we couldn’t do the smae thing agian due to the sea harreir withdrawal.
im currently reading Sharkey Ward’s “Sea Harrier over the falkland” – a truely great book showing how important training is and the stupidity of our high comannd 🙂
on AFM i had an in depth discussion with heechee (i think) – he is an argentine suport. i was trying to find out the argentine reeasoning behind thier cliam but i remmain in favour of the islanders deciding.

RE: Happy Easter
“And Rabie, while I’ve got your attention could you do me a favour? I know you’re a legend at digging out info and pics, I’d really appreciate it if you could see what you could find out about aviation places of interest in your part of the country, Kent, as I may be down there in the summer. Particularly anything off the beaten track or a little bit out of the ordinary.“
not sure if i’ve got this right but two good places to go are
the musem at the old RAF manston (by Margate – now called something like kent interantional airport)
right round the corner from me, the medway aircraft preservation society – there is a thraead about this on flypast with some good links. they have done up a laod of planes. i went there and you basically are right up touching the spitfire they were doing up at the time. its just a volunter orgaisation on the samll rochester airport. if you can this is worth a try.
there isn’t a musem at biggin hill, just replica spits and hurricnaes as gate guards – not sure whats a lydd airport but other than that not that much in kent really. dover castel has a nuclear bunker underneath it that is intresting but it isn’t aviation.
ask for more details.
