    … are, if I’m right, 37 in total !

but I’m still searching for pictures of F-5′ s of the Air Forces of

    LIBYA, PARAGUAY, and PAKISTAN

I’m pretty sure, although not certain, some of these Libyan F5’s were donated to Turkish Air Force in mid 70’s, possibly after the Qaddafi came to power and US ambargo had started.

The Turkish Air Force was a major user (even shot down 2 Iraqi Il-28s with them!) click here for a selection of photographs.

could you give some reference for this?
I couldn’t find any info on this TrAF shooting down Il-28’s in the link you posted or elsewhere!!

    Just wondering:

I read from somewhere that in April 1968, a F-104 variant called CL1010-2 competed against the F-4E and Mirage F-1C for the JASDF F-X programme.
(Now we of course know the winner.)

😮 Who won that said competition??

JASDF used both F4 and F104?

Failed US-Isralel policy – so now, lets save the POWs

Although it’s an interesting thread to read, it is getting out of focus and it seems the main points of all recent events are missed in an gigantic way!!

It is almost the same US policy applied in Vietnam long after they realized that the war was LOST!!!

And why not?? It worked for Nixon – within a year “public opinion” understood that the Vietnam war was being fought for the return of POWs and that America would accept nothing less than complete victory (even if Saigon had to become Ho Chi Minh City to achieve that grand victory of recovering POWs)

Granted that public opinion is even more mind bogglingly stupid these days. and many arguments in this thread are just a blatant examples, BUT in order to get enough POWs in two fronts, some sonic booms over Damascus are hardly sufficient.

Surely some way must be found to drag both Egypt and Jordan in so there can be a more respectable opponent for Israel to symbolically defeat and permit Israel to “triumphantly” withdraw from the west bank? :diablo:

Meanwhile the lesson that Israel has no strategic options is being drummed in.
    *they can’t occupy Lebanon,
*they can’t get Syria to occupy Lebanon,
    *they can’t occupy Gaza
so what CAN they do apart from pointless bombardment and even more pointless sonic booms?

The Xmas bombing of Hanoi was a nice touch which “forced” the Vietnamese to agree to American withdrawal Coming soon: ie. Bargouti leading the (“defeated” ) Palestinians

No warranties but this was long coming.

If someone is to believe your statement, one would assume that their are very few if any Muslims, who resided in the State of Israel after 1948. The “ethnic cleansing,” was not too effective ? Obviously their are a lot of Muslims all over Israel.

This is turning out to be a very interesting thread and I just wanted to add a small addendum to above statement:
After the Armenian Massacre (or call it Deportation if you like!) of over a million people, there were tens of thousands of Armenians still living in Anatolian heartland. Today their numbers is not more then few thousands but that’s the result of immigration of the population over the decays, following the beforementioned events.
Ethnic cleansing doesn’t necessarily create a pure cleansing of an entire race or religion from a particular area.
