To whom do I address these type of queries.?..I thought this thread was appropriate!..
Your TFS photos
……………..
Very nice shots…even through through dirty windows!..I wonder how long it will be before TFS Norte is used again.?..I always go to the North of the island(Puerto del la Cruz)Its quite a drag from Renia Sofia..but only 20mins from the North.

sound!
Thanks for that!..Presumably sound generally is good on all f/sims.?.Am about to purchase and wonder if the latest 2004(100 years of flight)is better than the 2002 edition any comments(anyone?)..
I asked if you were pleased with the sound…on your ‘new toy’are you?
Thanks for your interesting replies! Looks like not too much has changed from my early days…but then 1000hrs between o/hs were considered good..Now I believe an engine can remain in situe for over a year!..Metallurgical advances in the turbine area has meant prolonged exposure to high temperatures is no so life limiting as of old!..Compressor ‘stall’should however be a thing of the past with ‘electronic’ engine control in operation during start up..and climb..Flight ‘Management’ System I believe it is now called?Agree about the sim’…the ‘OMC’ switch is still there I presume??
engine problems etc..
Thanks for the info ..wilco! I did not realise this forum was specifically for trip experiences!I did think however,if such an incident occured it would have been mentioned…these days though any malfunction is kept quite..or as quiet as possible for safety reasons..Cheers ..
Re your new toy..
Are you pleased with the sound.?.This can let the visual image down and one cannot test before you buy? Nice pics though.. Any comment?
engine’troubles’in flight..
I wonder if I may inquire if any of you have experienced an’in flight’engine malfunction in the last 5 -10 years or so?? The reason I ask is that since my retirement and flying as a passenger…just NO such event has occured despite the introduction of ETOPS!..In my early days albeit mostly with prop turbines (Proteus mainly),it was considered unusual if all four engines were ‘burning and turning’ without some problem or other at least once a week!..I would like to know what kind of reportable snags occur these days?..Anyone care to offer a line or two.?.this is an Aviation Forum after all..
Your photos.
Nice clean a/c windows for a change..good pics too.. 🙂 a pity you did not use fill in flash..cannot see your face!!
I’ve already said what camera I use – an Olympus C-2100UZ.
Taken either from Myrtle Avenue for 27L arrivals, or the crashgate at the roundabout under the 27R approach. Police and security is no hassle.
Maybe now following the’security’ documents found by the roadside, you risk being arrested! Very good photos I must say..Thanks for showing them..
Just checking …The spellinG!! errors and grammar on many reports beggars belief…so much for contemporay education these days!..Obviously many of you have not enjoyed the joys of travel in’comfort’..
Times have changed(but not for the better!)
Things are certainly being stirred up now!!I wonder how many of you remember the ‘good old days’when one boarded an aircraft’all dressed up’and were served meals on spacious trays complete with stainless steel cutlery and china cups and plates etc?? 17 hour flights to Karachi(for instance)with stops en route every few hours..very civilised..and no security checks either!..
Nice collection of pics again! Some details missing though..where were they taken from and what camera did you use? Not able to easiliy get to LHR these days..so photos like these are really welcome..Is there a dedicated viewing area provided anywhere now??Is security tight around the perimiter roads?..
You must have lots of space in which to display your collection!..How about dusting..that must be a chore??
