Page 268 how did the DMO score the JSF for schedule???
benchmark was 6 and the JSF scored 6 hmmm… I don’t understand how does that get worked out?
can anyone explain?
Cheers
You all might want to read this
Joint Strike Fighter—a Technical Baseline Review conducted on the US JSF Program has resulted in the extension of the development and operational test schedules. Potential changes to software scope, development and release could threaten its ability to meet Australia’s requirements.
I love they way they dodge the elephant in the room :-
The JSF is a large and complex program and many challenges remain. While as a MoU Partner Australia does have a role, overcoming technical challenges is primarily a US responsibility.
and its still not on the Australian projects of concern list!!, Its on everyone elses.
And finally the icing on the cake
Appropriately manage JSF misinformation in the media.
You can read that two ways:), read the report there is quite a few interesting bits if you look hard enough.
Cheers
May I wish all Rafale fans a very Happy Christmas, congratulate team Rafale on their aircraft’s performance in Libya and wish you good news in Brazil in the not-too-distant future.
I’d like to second that.
An I’d also like to wish them luck in India, not quite as much luck as Typhoon:), but a very close second would be terrific.
Merry Xmas
I’m sorry to disagree with JW and PG,
I’m more than happy to be disagreed with in this particular case..:D
Its not so bad as I thought.;)
Cheers
Looks like Oman has kicked Eurofighter in the teeth and gone with the F6 blk50:(
What happened in Switzerland is comparable to the KC-X program. Both Boeing and EADS NA met the requirements, but Boeings tanker was cheap enough they got the deal by default.
Like the KC-X !!:rolleyes:So you mean Saab deliberately low balled the price just to jack it up when it’s too late !!
Oh those poor Swiss
cheers
The Rafale and Typhoon will not reach their final Air to ground capability until they are retiring in about 30-40 years.
The Typhoon is 2 to 3 years behind the Rafale in AtoG, so its not a significant gap, at least not one strong enough for the recent spate of competitions.
Cheers
if I remember correctly, during The Falklands War, the Yanks were very helpful on supplying the British with the latest version of the AIM-9 missile when they were already heading down to the South Atlantic.
Well! as I remember it, the UK used its NATO stocks of the Aim9L, which were later (much later) replenished by the US.
Even the French were very helpful wrt Exocet.
Off topic and I apologise.. I think Bush has damaged the international reputation of the US almost irreparable… and will probably be seen by history as the start of the decline of the US influence on the world.
Y tread is better than X thread in my opinion 😀
Your dreaming – X was much better, if you ignore some of the Y:eek:
LOL 😀
Can one thread go without X vs Y comparisons? They always just lead to flamefests.
The other thread was worse!! 😀
Typhoon – clean + low fuel at altitude M1.5 absolute max with current engines.
More usually M1.2 with externals inc fuel. endurance was quoted as until the fuel runs out!!, (basically its not limitede by time or temperature)
I don’t know what RafaleSu would do.
I have a proof that the Dassault negotiating team need to work on their diplomacy.
is it just me or is Eurofighter Website down… Now I’m not pointing fingers but who would do such a thing??
Has Eurofighter upset anyone recently?? ROTFLMAO :diablo:
The Arab world is a very male dominated society, are you sure you want to push Pretty in Pink aircraft? or a big scary ugly looking fighter.
No one remembers the British fighter called the Sopwith Snail!!, and why is that :
Because you need something to strike fear into the hearts of your enemy, not something to that would make a great knitting pattern for “friends of Dorothy”
But it is rather pretty.. now where’s the wool?:D
