You’re right. Early generation equipment was fully evolved. What was I thinking. Must make a mental note not to ridicule myself.

You go do that, and while you are busy doing so, might want to note that “early” generation isn’t now, it’s not 1990 or 2000, it’s 2008.

The Su-27 doesn’t have a 4000km range with weapons, and the figures I’ve seen are 4500km ferry range(with drop tanks), and 3600km on internal fuel.
I won’t argue that the Flanker is superior the the F-15E in ACM, but it doesn’t compare in the A2G role.

The Su-27SM can carry the entire arsenal of Russian A2G weapons, short of satellite guided ones and some massive anti-ship missiles, which aren’t all that necessary.

So no, it’s on par with the F-15E if not better.

Rapid Reaction Forces – airborne in nature, will be created in the near future.

Nice one … 😀 I think the times when China will start “copying” anything Russian after its first flight in Russia are finally over ! :diablo:

Let’s but these bad jokes beside … just received the recent AIR International issue with the Su-34 article !

Just the comparison of the individual delivery dates of each Su-27IB/-34 makes me fear a very, very, very slow progress on the T-50’s delivery.

As the military budget skyrockets in Russia, you’ll see much more equipment purchased yearly.

Russia is up to 92.78 billion in 2009. 25% increase over 2008.

Its a shame that a whole new generation of……people are listening to russian propaganda. how is russia saving Iran fro US imperialism by supplying them with arms? they have more than enough! If i put every press release from Moscow into a book, changed the names around and i’d have a new da vinci code!

Ultimate hypocrisy? Hahahaha . . . It’s capitalism . . . sell what to who you want. Isn’t that an American thing?

RSM are you aware of the state of Torpedo development for the RuN ? It seems the only modern torpedo that the RuN deploys is the UGST.

Western Torpedo development have moved way ahead deploying Torpedo like HWT Black Shark and LWT MU90 , any recent development in Russian Navy ?

Modern or not, the Type 65 isn’t something to be taken lightly.

The Russians have not had the resources nor have they ever developed a Stealthy 5th Generation Fighter. So, just because the PAK-FA is a later design hardly makes it Superior……..

    That’s your whole argument?

The Russians have plenty of resources, and have had them for almost a decade now.

The US hasn’t developed a 5th gen stealth fighter either… till now… and the Russians are now there too. This is mind boggling logic?

Just because it exists doesn’t mean it will be better than the F-22 and/or F-35!

However, in all likelihood, since it was developed later, I wonder what’s more likely? Hmm . . .

Not like the 1000+ people developing the T-50 have been sleeping and have never heard of the F-22.

Don’t get your panties in a bunch if it is better though, what’s the F-22 done lately anyway?

Well since no pics exist yet of this vaporware, how confident are we that it will actually fly next year and match up to F-22 or even F-35? I can’t see GOI or IAF putting any money without seeing how the russian version performs.

Just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist LMAO. 😀

I am talking about using diesel subarmines for protection out in blue water. Do you think it is enough having a SSK sitt still and wait for an enemy sailing by? As a protector you need to patrol the area the boomer is operating in, That can not be done at 3-4 kts. Everytime she surface she expose her self from beeing picked with passive and active sensors. As a boomer, you do not want one nearby you. Boomers will never be used for protetion. Maybe during time when leaving port and reurning to port you can have 2-3 Diesels protect the coast just outside, but then theyr role is over.

That’s not the discussion here now is it?

We were debating the non-need of the Russian SSBNs to even wander out very far, which means, SSKs can be great protection.

    Based on common knowledge.

Submarine acoustics are not common knowledge. LOL.

Not to you, or anyone other than a very select few people.
