This is probably partially due to an outgoing lame duck administration trying to make one last splash on the international relations stage. Even if McCain gets elected there’s no guarantee his foreign relations policies regarding these issues will mirror those of the Bush administration.

What are you kidding yourself? Look at how McCrap reacted to the entire crisis!

LOL. Whoops. Okay, but all that article says that they’ll complete “several more”. And they’ve only got 16 anyway. That’s even fewer than the number of B-2s flying.

    What are you smoking?

That production run will be to 30 machines – 1 machine every 18 months.

    Are you reading anything?

“Russia plans to upgrade the existing fleet and build at least one new bomber every one-two years to increase the number of available aircraft to 30 in the near future.”

“Continue”? The ONE they’ve bought in the last ten years was put together out of parts laying around the factory as I recall. Do you have any evidence that suggests they’ve restarted production?

You don’t know anything about the Russian military do you?

I find it rather funny that when I translate an official Sukhoi report / interview here, hardly anyone even bothered to comment on things like the cockpit.

You distract from the reality by wild guesses to stay polite.

The US elections were rigged, and all European elections were rigged too. Now try to disprove it

When you do, I’ll start to think maybe the Russian one were too, and that Putin is really in power. When he isn’t, but who would care, most of the nation supports him. So whine more. 😀

As the West recognized Kosovo, they can now suck a big one, and face their own politics backfire on them.

The UK is far from toothless, with four Vanguard SSBNs (Thats 64 Tridents with 150+ warheads plus an unknown number of decoys). And those Tridents can cover most of Russia with the submarine sitting at its pier.

Right, and it takes about 5 SS-18s with 20MT warheads to wipe England clean off the map . . .

I still don’t see why sovereign nations shouldn’t be allowed to join NATO if they choose to do so. I understand why it irritates Russia, but if the Ukraine and Georgia want to join NATO, what are they really going to do about it?

    What’s the point?

Russia, being the neighbor of both Georgia and Ukraine, can provide more for both of those countries than the US or any NATO alliance – why isn’t Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan whining? Idiotic politics . . .

If that vote ratios are correct, we are back in former times. In democratic states such vote-ratios are something strange, when we keep in mind that opposition members are part of that houses too. 😮

Yeah man the Bolsheviks are back, watch yourself. Might want to app for a job at the White House while you are at it.

Total sensationalist journalist BS. Give me an S-300P or even S-200 battery and I’ll drop FOXBATs like flies. FLIES.

Iranian Tomcat pilots certainly weren’t scared of nor had any problems swatting them down either. If you want to determine just how effective the MiG-25P was, we should really look at it’s kill/loss ratio. An unsurpassed aircraft of such awesome performance and excellent capability must surely have a dominant kill/loss ratio, right?

Now now, he’s partially right. The Israelis couldn’t touch the MiG-25 for a long time.

S-400: open press reporting says that there are two batteries operational outside Moscow, the first being at Electrostal.

    S-300P: they still operate the S-300PT, S-300PS, and S-300PM.

    Check this:

    http://geimint.blogspot.com/2008/06/worldwide-sam-site-overview.html

That’ll show you every identified S-300P series battery worldwide, including prepared but unoccupied sites, giving you some numbers. Bear in mind that these figures aren’t exactly accurate as there are a lot of batteries I haven’t been able to pinpoint yet due to a lack of imagery coverage.

    Another:

    http://geimint.blogspot.com/2008/07/s-300p-detailed-analysis.html

That’ll give you an overview of the S-300P variants and systems and a list of operators identified in imagery, as well as operators who have purchased the system but haven’t had them appear in imagery yet.

The S-300PM variants include the PMU / PMU-1/ PMU-2? I understand the PMU is somewhat of an export designation, but which of these stage-upgrades are deployed in Russian service?

Also, what’s the latest on the deployment of the Antey-2500 (S-300VM?) ?

    SOC,

Do you have specific numbers on the number and type of S-300 systems currently deployed in Russia? Or your blog (link please?) Or are they at best estimates – since I haven’t seen official figures released per variant. You could probably figure out the S-400 though looking at serial deployment schedule.

Someone told me that Lenta.ru reported that the Georgians are AGAIN amounting forces close to South Ossetia. I’ll get a link if I can.

Actually gun-toting maniacs prefer guns to be illegal so the law-abiding citizen is undefended. It’s no fun getting shot at by your prey you know.

Interesting how the prey has never shot back . . .
