What do you think how much is the weopon cost of current 60 M2K9 which are ordered? and add to that swing in euro-$ parity in past 6 years and inflation also. you will get a very nice number for arming 126 M2K9 with similar weopons. . I am not even counting arming the current 50 or so M2K India already has. and offcourse i am not mentioning like some one else who has unnamed sources which are at best at clerical level 😀

Had I knew the answer… I won’t be here bothering you for the task man…

i am not spelling options. just giving reality check to some one. just the weopons cost of arming new 126M2K9 will run into $4 to $5B. without those weopons it is pointless to purchase them. i am not going into weopons and upgradation for the current inventory.

Can you break up the figure .. as to how it will be so much.. not being pricky.. but I honestly have no idea the weapons are SO costly.. for M2K9..

I think that it would be better for IAF to reduce the museum(Someone on BR/AFM mentioned) type inventory.. With CCS clearing the deal for Qutari Mirages.. I have a strong feeling that it would be M2k..

    😀 … I will disagree..

let’s not react.. IAF knows very clearly what it wants.. I am getting the feel that IAF will get the Mirage-2K-1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/whatever.. :diablo: .. with a decent offensive package.. no F-16/18 etc… To operationalise a new platform will take time 6/7+ years .. and time is a luxury that IAF is not having at all.. Money will not be a problem…

IAF will now give a new thought to the EW and SEAD operations.. and might pull in MKI for the role.. converting few MKI’s like growlers F-18G’s…

You can expect more force multipliers and some serious tactics revamp.. if not already done..

Expect some speedier completion of work on LCA through collaborations etc… especially in weaponisation.. I mean marrying the weapon systems from US/MBDA etc to LCA..

So, Indian govt should not be crying over this sale of few F-16s to Pakistan?
By the way it snot 200 Mirage-2000 since IAF chief few weeks ago said that we are not interested in a single engine aircraft, and since russia threatening about going to the western countries I guess the only choice is Mig-29s?

When did he said no single engine aircraft..

crying/no crying is a political game.. everybody does that.. nothing new in that.. it will happen in any case no matter what.. GOI/GOP or for that matter any other gov are no different from each other..
