FM- do you have any video of the new engined 76 in flight.. want to hear it out.. D-30’s are mind numbing loud..
btw.. does the new engined -76 still needs to hold out for about 1-2 min (on milpower) before getting on the takeoff run..

Considering the vast list of contenders. Sound like India could be more interested in technology and off-set than the type itself…….

    EXACTLY…

I see this MMRCA RFP from an angle as to how it would ADD UP to the nascent Indian Aviation Industry from the design to production phases.. the impact of which would not be seen in next 5-10 years but after that..

and this is being in a way simultaneously followed by the desire to improve upon the Indian Naval design and production capabilities too through similar concept.. (if someone is following the trend)

And to be honest.. I have not seen the desire to help local industry from the Europeans as much as I have seen in American (They are new in the game) companies and to an extent Russian firms (They already have elaborate footholds) as far as the MMRCA is concerned.

I think we are just beating the bush right now… We don’t even know what the RFP for the MMRCA has asked for from the contenders..

JaiS.. do you have any idea from where can we get the RFP details .. I tried to search but could not get it..

I have an uncanny feeling that MMRCA is going the SHORNET way… I am now least bothered about the sanctions etc.. I have a feeling that the Indo-US relationship is moulding itself into a very different form.. and at a pace not imagined off by most..

New(?) concepts of identifying the Stealth strike formation would be devised with the help of the various platforms in unison.. consider all the different types of radar networks and also the Awacs systems working in a way to triangulate the striking formations.. to which the Stealth CAP/Interceptions would be launched guided by other platforms.. the concept is to light up the formation and the returns or whatever being picked up by the interceptors ..

on A-A engagement it would become more of a blind game.. I believe the next generation of avionics would see huge progress in the visual identification up out there theoritically speaking a telescopic video camera that can see huge distances…. 😀

Also we might see new and new developments in the destruction of the missiles before they reach the targets.. compact lasers etc.. if you can destroy the missiles before they succeed.. whether you have stealth or not is not going to matter much..

A question.. why is that billions have been spent in Stealth but nothing (Relatively speaking) in systems which will destroy the missiles..
