Sabrejet, unfortunately the RAF Museum are not posting out Record Cards until at least January 2019, due to the RAF 100 Celebrations
Lossiemouth is way better for photography from the outside there are at least 4 excellent vantage points around the fence, and I think £75 is really expensive and taking the p&%s, and anyone who thinks they can now get a flight for £27 return is living in a dream world. Its also an hour from Inverness. There will also be little or no nearby accommodation as it will have already been snapped up by the JW Crews. And just to respond to the comment above, I,ve been taking photographs by the fence at Lossiemouth for 25 years and have NEVER been moved on.
Runway 12/30 has not really be used for flying for many years, in the recent past its been an overspill area for Edinburgh Airport visitors. It will be interesting to see what they do with it though.
Runway 06, The Highland Aviation museum do not have a Valiant any more as its now moved on, and I forgot about the Brooklands one thanks
And I thought this remained one of the few aviation sites where you still got sensible answers. Words fail me
If I knew what they looked like I wouldn’t be asking the question
Thanks for your very positive comments guys, just to make a minor correction, the TSR part is the RE-heat jet pipe module, it is displayed with an Olympus 101 engine actually from a Vulcan Mk.1. The Olympus was used on the TSR so they work as an exhibit.
Please keep looking at our Website and various news items I will put out for updates on other exhibits.
You mean XV263 not XZ263
Morayvia at Kinloss has 5 cockpits and aircraft that are open for people to sit in (under the supervision of volunteers) and experience what it was like, we have a policy of “if you can get in it”, “you can get in it” Its always amazing looking at kids faces when they sit in the cockpits. We have the following always open, Vampire T.11, Canberra TT18, Jet Provost T.4, Nimrod MR2 (Cockpits) and a complete Sea King HAR 3 helicopter.
Yes I have one of those. Let me dig it out.
Thanks Bruce, I would appreciate that
Cant see why they just didn’t go and purchase the airworthy PR9 at Kemble
Out of action for 2 years, I suspect not, its highly unlikely that with the 100th Anniversary of the RAF being celebrated in 2018 that one of their star items (if not THE star item) will be absent from those celebrations.
Thanks for your offer E Mail sent
