I belive that SQ’s soon to be non-stop SIN-New York will be a polar routing. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Is CX’s new non-stop HKG-JFK with the 346 a polar routing? The flights begin this year.

    VERY good news!!!!

    Some useful information:

    Possible routes are- YYZ-DEL YYZ-JNB YYZ-HKG YYZ-NRT YVR-SYD
    (All non-stop)

Configuaration- 42J 225Y (might change b/c the YYZ-DEL route is
    mainly Y passengers, maybe
something like 30J 237Y *not official*)

Notes: As we know the 343 is at the time being used on the YYZ-
DEL route, but it has to make stops in places like ARN
often. The 345 gives AC the ability to operate full loads
and cargo on the route while still operating non-stop.

Deliveries are scheduled with first a/c in May and the
second in June *sorry no offical dates*

Currently the ACPA is negotiating terms with the AC pilot
union on terms of crew size for the ULH flights. The pilot
union wants 2 Captains and 2 F/Os on each flight but it is
understood that AC wants 1 Captain, 2 F/Os, and 1 relief
Pilot. No ULH operations will be carried out until this issue
    is resolved.

From memory I also belive AC has to install proper crew
rest areas aswell before ULH flights begin.

    Hope this helps-

Thank you for the quick response. Just to make things clear, it is only a part that is optional and is used to mount on a tripod or monopod. So it may be taken off the lens. Correct? Thanks again, you have been a big help.

Thanks for the news. Also, It is to my understanding that the first 346 and 345 deliveries will be pushed up from 2006 to 2005. They will look stunning…

The 757’s will be put out of production due to”a shrinking order book” as a statement made by president mullally of Boeing. The 727-300 would only be temporary i suppose until the 7E7 comes out.

    🙁 🙁 what ….pigs dont fly…aawww:(

Just a few questions still arise. As stated, the engines will presumably have a larger output then the “current” 727 engines and the fuselage will esentially be changed to accomadate more passengers, cargo, or what not. This seems to be a large undertaking on Boeing’s part. It would take probably one to two years to just produce the aircraft and get it into testing. All in all, it would be three years before it was even in the air. Leaving a short amount of time between it’s EIS and the 7E7 EIS, definately no airline would purchase the aircraft only to replace it a year or two later( this is totally different matter then the SQ situation). Of course we all know the 757 production will eventually be shut down in the decade, so that is not really suprising. One thing that does not make sense is the extreme range mentioned( see my previous post for a possible explination), this range would not be needed if this aircraft was even produced because there are few commercial routes, or even none at all, that are that “thin”. In order to carry enough passenger, fuel, and luggage the 727 would have to be stretched to the absolute limits leaving structurally integrity questionable and also a brand new wing and avionics.

Im sorry but I can not go on with my explination but I would like to say that what we are all looking for is proof of this news, or even just saying this may just be a rumor. I personally do not mind information like this, it sparks conversation and controversy, but we do not need controversy that is aimed at fellow members. If anyone has other arguments or ideas, I would be happy to read them.

HIGHLY unlikely that the 727 will return. Now, I would say that his statement was misunderstood. Boeing has released some information on a 717-300 which is a stretch over the current 200., that is what I think was mentioned. Also, it was understood that Boeing wanted to sell it partly as a business aircraft. Hence, this could be a possible reason for the extreme range that would be needed for FRA-ORD.
