    Very good assessment.
Now with the elction over we can turn over to more pressing issues.
We can sort out your fondness for Airbus products….:)

Well hey, I think the airbus vs. boeing thing is all in good spirits. I am not totally for Airbus. I mean, the 777 and 747 win no matter what. Anyway, I like hearing the comments on the young voters. It is true that my fellow peers and age group are uneducated. Often, they simply are puppets of their parents or a too rebelious to have true common sense. I think the biggest failure in our society that has hurt young voters is the vast amount of adults who wont bring up politics in the home or outside. I understand politics is very touchy, but if someone doesnt take a stand and starts discussing politics in a civilized manner we will never discover our own values. Politics is very important wether some people like it or not, so I say have sit a give us young people the “talk”. The political one that is.

To all of you anti-Bush people….
    Get over it!
Here’s a news flash for you…America isn’t Europe or Canada, so don’t exect the all Americans to share your views.
If you don’t like the way the majority of Americans voted, fair enough, but keep your insults to yourself.

I understand that America chose this president, he won the majority and the electoral college. Both systems work and are fair. I am not really disputing that. I am not blind with hatred of George Bush as a political leader, but he does in my view have fault in key issues for me. It comes down to the american people liking a president who represents them as a people (image wise) and makes them feel safe and happy. I must say the Republican Party does this wonderfully. I think a major factor here is the weakness of the Democratic party, which could have more of a chance of running up to par with the Republicans if they grew their power and had a true strong leader. I do not like personal insults pointed at Bush as a person, but I do not find that voicing a opposing view point in now what is a very divided nation is fair.

I’m glad to hear those expressions from you frankly.

Thank you Ren. It is good to know some of my fellow friends share my views.

    It’s a sad day.

    *sigh*

Be careful what you wish for- you just might get it.

Agreed. As an american resident and canadian citizen I am to some extent dumbfounded by this election. I dont know, maybe my left wing liberalness has covered my eyes, but do people actually realize what was at stake. Looking at some polls, it looks like on 17% of voters under 30 showed up, the same figure as 2000. America is blind with ignorance (a general view). Do the american people realize that almost everyother western nation has socialized healthcare, and also the american dollar is diving and oil price is going up. Not to mention the current incumbent has chosen to make 9/11 the shining star of his first term, constantly envoking warmth and patriotism to the very easily controled american public. We will see how the next four years will go. When I am 18 or older I am going to Europe of a second choice Canada.

And some other issues that I shall not pursue are the mixture of religion and government, the extreme rightness of the incumbent, the environment, and not to mention the Democrat’s inherent weakness when running against the big, bad republicans.

Sorry for the rant and any mistakes-

Sorry for not given the details guys. From what I know, Mirabel was built by the Canadian government to provide for future expansion in the Montreal area. It was built essentially miles (or Kilometers) from the city in what most see as a forest. It was built like many airports with a utopian image (like Brasil’s capitol airport or to some extent Dulles) and was designed to have room for expansion. This expansion room was never used. In the beginning people were excited about it and it was busy but in the end only Air Transat and a few other small airlines and cargo carriers used it. It is simply not as close and as useful as the more centrally located Dorval, AC’s headquarters. So now I guess it will only be used for cargo until demand spurs the need for its use as a passenger airport aswell.

Although I like the idea of a two airport operation, I believe that Mirabel was simply not practical and a misuse of money. Now with impovments being made to Dorval it is alot more atractrive to any airline operating to Montreal.

I fly this route all the time, it’s a bloody joke if they close one of these important airfields.

If I was a yank I would vote for Kerry.

I agree on both fronts. I live here in the U.S. but I am not a citizen and I am to young anyway, I want to vote very badly. So does my mum and dad!

On topic now, I agree this arfield must remain open. For the sake of safety for any aircraft, twin or quad.

In time I hope to have DSLR. It might be five years or more though. Until then I’ll stick with my old Pentax and 28-70mm Macro lens 😉
